Agree witht he FEAR comments. The weapon damage output is waaay too high.
Personnally I think if damage was reduced and you had the option of upping the decal limit, then you could have some very cool one on one firefights where you trash rooms before one of you is the winner.
I think thats part of the problem, in FEAR there is no adrenaline rush of winning a fight, because it ends so fast that you really dont feel like youve acomplished anything.
I started up a server and took on my brother for a while. At one point he turned a corner and I had my back to him. He started firing and I managed to twitch spin around and start spraying with the SMG, I must have got 5 shots of before I was dead, and most of those were before he was even in my field of view. Hows that fun?
We had a long conversation after that, in game, and basically we came to the conclusion that without a more prolonged firefight, where you use ducking, cover, grenades and different weapons for different situations, one on one deathmatchs really arnt that fun. Which we thought was a shame as trashing tons of glass and walls in a huge firefight using the FEAR engine would be really cool...
As for BF2 im debating wether to pick it up, I probably will as I like the squad combat, but im wondering about the longevity of the game...
