Warcraft Achieves New Milestone with Two Million Paying Subscribers is the
press release announcing a new subscription threshold achieved by Blizzard's
MMORPG, with further breakthroughs expected when the game launches in China:
World of Warcraft recently surpassed the two million mark for paying subscribers. Already the largest MMO in both North America and Europe, Blizzard expects to see even greater growth with the recent commercial launch in China on June 7, 2005. Anticipation for World of Warcraft was already at an all-time high in China, with peak concurrency during the open beta test topping 500,000 players, nearly equal to World of Warcraft's peak concurrency in all three current markets combined. Blizzard expects to see the new mark of two million subscribers shattered quickly with the arrival of players from China in the coming weeks.
I played wow from november til march and had 1 level 60 char and 5+ others in the mid levels.
as soon as I got to 60 the game went totally down the hill. boring as hell because it was only equipment that was important at that point. if that wasnt enough, I was on a pvp server and the classes were and still are totally fucked up. my friend and his wife still play, but stopped their original level 60 chars, because they are totally gimped in pvp. now they play a level 45+ rogue and priest and own even 2-3 level 60s at once ALL THE TIME. why? because they learned how fucked up the classes are and learned which are the most overpowered. indeed they have lots of fun now with their overpowered classes, but only because no one can hurt them unless they are totally outnumbered. for me that is a very sad fact.
I didnt have the nerve to start over AGAIN, so I stopped playing this pos.
no, Im sorry, the game itself is quite nice judged by the features etc. but blizzard is too incompetent to polish it, no wonder if they need 1-3 months for A FEW BUGFIXES.
So my opinion is blizzard SUCKS, not wow.

I have given up on waiting for BIS to come back to their senses and do a real ArmA 2 successor.
