If ur using the browser that came with the game[dont know if anythign supports this game now anyways] look to the rite and u can c what servers disabled the timelimit.

oops, just saw the post where it says dice is being lame and removing servers that removed the TL, not sure y they would do that, the TL is annoying.

I can't play the demo at all. Ever since the time limit was put back on them, you can't barely get started before the round is over. I'm noticing on many servers that people don't even bother using Command because there isn't time to seriously implement it. It's a completely different game if you have the full length time to play the map.

There are plenty of servers without this time limit, when you're browsing the list just look for one with really high scores, or higher than 30 at least. Normally there is a ceiling ppl hit in 12 min and I think it's about 20-30 for the best players. So I look for servers that have 30-40 kills for the top guys. Has worked really well so far.

This "feature" must have been put in by some marketing moron who doesn't know a thing about this game because it is completely uneccessary. I'm happy the demo is here and I've already preordered it. If someone actually thought we'd all just want to sit around and play the demo they need their head examined. With mods in development, new content coming up, patches for the server browser, etc, who would want to stick with the demo if they liked the game? So far BF1942 has been the best money I ever spent. I played that game longer than any other I've owned.

Unpaid Employee and Fanboy of DICE and anything BF2.

You know, I am one of those oldschool id fans who played the original wolfy, all the doom games, and became a hardcore online gamer starting with Quake 1.

I really hoped D3 was going to be good. I never made it out of the Alpha labs before I was bored out of my mind. Actually tonight I had nothing to do, so I fired it back up again. Played it for exactly 15 minutes before I couldn't stand it any more.

I can see how some people would like it, but I can't stand it.

HL2, I could barely walk away from it to eat or use the bathroom. Shit, I even though Chronicals of Riddick: EBB was better than D3.

I think i was just expecting more from the game, I like the original dooms better than D3, i recently played some wads i never played before for doom2 and they were fun, i think they were more fun bc there were alot more monsters attacking at once and there r open spaces and diff looking levels, i think it was mostly bc of the levels i didnt like D3, they were all 2 repetitive.

I also don't know why 90% of the servers I'm on say 0 for ping.

Not everything I play has to be innovative - just entertaining. And Doom 3 was entertaining (for me, anyway.)

He didn't say Doom 3 was good, he simply said better than the worst FPS in his view. Which is warped, because in no way is HL2 worse than Mortyr 2.



The BF2 demo has now crashed my computer twice. It is the first program to crash this system. Control-Alt-Delete does not help, I need to hard boot it when it happened. Both times it was the menu, I forgot the first time but this time when I tried to sort by ping.

Fun game, POS interface behind it.

I would say HL2 was one of the worst FPS in the last 2 years. (I would rather play Doom3 again...)

Maybe in all ur wisdom u can tell me whats so great about doom3 since there was not 1 piece of innovation in the game,all there was was nice graphics and the end. Couple of creatures springing out of nowhere, that was entertaining for about 3 levels.

Id's last couple of games have sucked. RTCW was ok but they didnt even make the game, same thing will prolly happen with Q4 bc raven is making it. Atleast HL2 had somewhat of a storyline, some new weapons[doom3 none], huge open areas[doom3 small cramped levels all the way through the game] and the Mp really sucked in it, boring levels and onyl 4 players, doesnt seem like they were even trying at all when they were makign this game.

Bf2 is a good game though :]

The game loses a lot when people aren't working as a team, moreso than any game I've played.


Nothing is worse than being a commander and having three squads of 2-3 people, but they totally ignore you. Never asking for UAV, never passing instructions down, never giving instructions of their own, or the worst, having your squad leaders just flying planes. Why be a leader if you're just going to circle the map?

The unlockable weapons were never going to be that exciting or better otherwise lower ranked players would end up at a serious disadvantage. It's just a little extra for people who have been playing properly long enough to be promoted.

Anyone else been able to play with the secret weapons in the demo?

I'm less than impressed and shocked that EA would include them in the demo. But they are there. I guess I was expecting them to be more powerful then the normal weapons but they don't seem to be...

In several cases the original is better. Plus the special unlock weapons are the same for all sides... That seems a little disappointing. Maybe things will change in the full version with respect to each army having their own unique weapons to unlock.

The game overall is insanely fun. Once people settle into the game and start using the squads effectively the game will really shine. Right now most people just go solo but being in a squad is so much fun and you can be so much more effective in combat.

We have custom maps on the server, but only play them during peak times. Alot of people just dont seem to want to play custom maps. And with any luck cs_assault by Valve will be released this or next week. Also, myself and one of our admins were given the source file for cs_assault_2005 and we are working on fixing it up to improve balance and overall aethetics.

I haven't played in a few weeks, but I stick on an assault server. Just three variations of assault in rotation. Great group of regulars, but too many myg0t/etc kids show up, and mods don't tend to play on that server. A shame.
