I'm trying to keep the impending release of the Battlefield 2 demo out of the
forefront of my mind to try and avoid getting impatient, but the closer it gets,
the harder it becomes to quell a sense of anticipation. I really hope they
achieve the better vehicle balance that's been discussed... My own preference
would is to be able to play without even hooking up a joystick. I guess we'll
see about that soon enough.

Today I suddenly got a nostalgic urge to play a little Quake III, so I installed it and to my surprise it won't run! It tries to start, but then kicks out to the desktop with a screwed up gamma. It's definately some kind of GL or driver issue.
I installed it first with the point release and when that didn't work I uninstalled it and tried it without the point release and it still wont run.
I updated to the latest Catalyst driver from ATI (running a 9800 pro), still no joy.
Tried resetting all the driver settings to defaults, still no go.
I used to be godlike at all things Quake, but this has me stumped... Little help?
