Out of the Blue

Our foray through the city yesterday was not as easy as I would have imagined on what we thought was the dead day of the three-day weekend, as traffic on the way back was pretty rough. We made our planned stop at Stew Leonard's but it was a zoo in there -- there's actually a sign in the story quoting the New York Times saying it's like a zoo and circus, but that was actually referring to the number of gimmicks there to appeal to youngsters. Anyway, we decided to forego the cookout and barely escaped with our sanity intact. The weather is cooperating again, so we may try today, but it will involve shopping at a local market, I don't want to be on the highway with all that holiday return traffic.

It was said that you would destroy the Links, not join them! Thanks Mike Martinez, Ant, and EvilToast. And Ebow for the quote.

Lemme guess. Indy(Indi) is old and plays the mentor to young indy...

Yes but it is being written by George Lucas…

It is NOT. RTF-ingA, Enahs!

Variety reports that screenwriter Jeff Nathanson's scripts for Indiana Jones 4 and Rush Hour 3 are moving in opposite directions.

While the trade previously reported that Chris Tucker was expected to sign a $20 million deal which would fast-track New Line's Rush Hour 3, the actor ended up not doing so.

Meanwhile, Nathanson's draft for Indiana Jones 4 has apparently met with the approval of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. But before Paramount can move forward, Harrison Ford still has to sign off on the script, and he hasn't yet read it.

The trade adds that with "Star Wars" off his plate, Lucas recently summoned Nathanson to his Bay Area headquarters, where they went over the draft. The screenwriter also got notes from Spielberg, who brought him into the mix after working with him on Catch Me if You Can and Terminal.

Yes but it is being written by George Lucas…as we all know that George Lucas can not write dialouge to save his life….see all the StarWars movies…

Slight problem - they did some buggy coding about 2 major patches previously that zorched anyone that had my motherboard/memory combo. Literally, several hundred people couldn't play. (The game would crash every 2-3 minutes.)

Their response? Remove mods, then start replacing hardware. Screw that.

Wow, that is some QUALITY customer service they have there...

Edit : Isn't Harrison Ford a little old to be playing Indy?

No, because Indy will be old in the movie too, according to Lucas. Not sure how it will work out, but I love Indiana Jones, so I'm definitely hyped up for the next one. Hope they bring Sean Connery back as well.

And what does it say about PC gamers when they get excited about a game that been out for a well over a year? What perception is validated to the publishers?
It says they're not going to miss out on a great game just to make a point to publishers, especially given if nobody bought GTA:SA PC then it'd more likely mean GTA4 would never appear on PC, rather than simultaneously appear.

Which Stew Leonards ? I haven't been to the one in Yonkers but the original in Danbury sells some damn fine food - their fruit pies are extremely yummy. Of course, the displays whilst kind of tacky still enthrall the youngsters enough that you can shop in relative quiet.

Never found the recent GTA games adequately compelling to get excited enough to mention them.

And what does it say about PC gamers when they get excited about a game that been out for a well over a year? What perception is validated to the publishers? Some gamers are content with waiting, filling the second class citizen (or in this case, gamer) role the market already thinks you are.

Purchasing this game or any other ‘temporarily exclusive’ game just ensures that it will happen more often and be ‘temporarily exclusive’ for longer periods of time.

Seems at 2:30 when he says it is over some airbase, there is a cam move upwards and the object follows the cam move like it was a bug stuck to the lense. Bad camera match techniques?

I'm leaving WoW and may pick up CoH again. I was buried in school for the last few months. When the semester was over, I wanted to join Zathrus and our friends back on WoW.

Slight problem - they did some buggy coding about 2 major patches previously that zorched anyone that had my motherboard/memory combo. Literally, several hundred people couldn't play. (The game would crash every 2-3 minutes.)

Their response? Remove mods, then start replacing hardware. Screw that.

So I'm tempted to go back to COH. School starts back on Wednesday, but I think I can squeeze in a few hours of gaming here and there.

Z is back playing UT2K4 a lot. He's happy.

Well funny, I'm coming off of CoH and playing WoW for something different. I love City of Heroes and look forward to possibly playing it again down the road, but one of the main reasons I left the game (other then needing something different to play) is from the last big patch (issue 4).

The way how they changed stuff like flight and superleap suffering if you attack which doesn't make sense to me. Overall the year I had the game I was toon crazy making so many characters that I never played one long enough to get him (or her) to level 50 (the max).

Is something buggy with the Launch Links option in user settings? Whenever I'm on the message board then I see the checkbox for it, whenever I'm on the normal news page then it's not there and the links don't launch. I actually saw it there today for the first time in a while, I clicked on it and then the page refreshed and it vanished and the links don't launch.

I'm too lazy to keep hitting shift-click for all these links!

Sooo, is it some bug in the page, or can I fix it somehow?

Thx.
