Doesn't Dr. Derek Smart have a Ph.D. from a school with one of the world's best Futurology departments?

ps 5....give me a break, ps 3 still not materialized and now comes 5. people who starts this kind of hype should be whiped and shot at their mouth.
Actually this wasn't (originally) any kind of 'PS5 Hype'. It was just a fairly stupid off-the-cuff side-comment by someone comparing 'brain power' with 'computer power' in an article about being able to 'download' your mind into a computer in the next 50-75 years or so. The quote was (you may commence wincing now):

"The new PlayStation is one percent as powerful as the human brain," He told the Observer. "It is into supercomputer status compared to 10 years ago. PlayStation 5 will probably be as powerful as the human brain."

The people to shoot are the ones who took that original article and republished part of it in the form of the above-linked version using that incredibly stupid headline.

Where do you see Xbox Live going with 360?

I'm excited that multiplayer gaming is really beginning to come into its own. We recently announced 2 million subscribers for Xbox Live, and I'm excited that we're getting rid of credit cards and offering a free level of service for Xbox Live. Especially for Europe, because we need to do better with Xbox Live in Europe. Obviously need to pay a subscription to play online but if you talk to anyone with Xbox Live they'll tell you it's worth every penny.

It is? Anyone who pays to be online twice is insane. This is just one more reason why PC gaming still owns.

maybe as powerful as George Bush's brain, which, you know, isn't saying much.

according to the Time article there are plenty of existing XBOX 360s

I read that same article, and I think it said "With one GPU in them".

Also, I believe ATI does not have silicon yet on the R520?

Actually, according to the Time article there are plenty of existing XBOX 360s. Whether or not some were brought to E3 but not enough for all setups I don't know.

Doesn't really matter, I think the point is the hardware is locked and out there, as opposed to Sony, who can't give hard specs because some decisions aren't made and some parts like the GPU aren't even completed. Yet Sony still blew a ton of smoke.

Peter Moore : "Xbox 360 is real. It's downstairs right now."

Yeah, except that it isn't. You know, since no finalized Xbox360 exists yet (a few demo models with just one GPU in it) and that all your demos were running on Mac G5s. Not on Xboxes.

But whatever floats your boat Peter Moore.
