They charged money for this crap at one point? I say Derek Smart really needs to start making his games at least... up to some sort of standards

And that is your problem.

People are not patient enough to learn te ropes in order to enjoy the amount of work put into this.

Lemme ask you this... Did you play Final Fantasy Tactics, and then play Final Fantasy Tactics Advance? Notice the difference between the two.

FFT had a very deep involvement, and a good story. Though it was complicated. When this was released it did fairly well.

Now we have FFTA, an absolutely sad edition of the original. The story is lame, but the gameplay is faster, to suit people these days that care about just picking it up and playing as opposed to learning, then enjoying how you managed to get the information working for you.

If you do not enjoy actually playing these titles, then stay the **** out of news bits like this. I'm tired of news that *I* want to hear being spammed out by trolls like you.

Bottom Line Gentlemen: If you don't like the game, and believe you won't like it, then don't say anything at all! There are those that would relish to hear the news and talk about it with those that care, and not with people that don't have the patience.

and I wonder how long they spent actually trying to play it..?

You can't just pick it up and start commanding waves of fleets. Hell it took me nearly 3/4ths of a month just to figure out the mining ops myself.

And who's fault is that? You're telling me we should play every game for 3 weeks before there's some sort of pay off? Shit, if the game isn't fun in the first 3 hours, I stop playing.

If it ain't good in the first few hours, it probably won't get better...

Those people played the game. Their reviews speak for themselves...

The biggest issue here guys is that no one has actually played the NEW games.

These guys have:

53% average...yeah, we've learned...NOT to buy anything from Derek.

The biggest issue here guys is that no one has actually played the NEW games.

If you havn't played it, then you guys as a community and an individual have NO RIGHT to say whether it's good or not.

I can bet that someone is going to say that I am crazy, or I am being payed or something, but let me assure you folks: I payed Derek for his products.

There aren't any other titles as massive and as seamless as this one, and the fact that most of you are basing what happened in the past (a long time ago) you would think that someone would learn right? Well 3000AD had learned and is of course dealing with the issues made by the Distributors.

Don't judge, lest ye be judged.

Good Day, Sirs...

I have never shat a caltrop, but I have played two D.S. games. Call me crazy, but I liked 'em. (No, I will not attempt to shit a caltrop to verify the validity of Proffesional's claim!)

complex non-linear game

- is a massive understatement when used to describe BCM. In fact just the word 'game' must of been put there just to add a bit of sarcastic humour.

Who else but Smart would pretend to be happy to play "complex non-linear titles"?

Everybody who likes the Civilization titles. Espically with the mods like Double Your Pleasure or Rise and Rule.

I just want to say, this is the best Blue's thread in months.

E3 is just over, but the most entertaining things I've seen this week have been from this board

After seeing everyone in this thread jump on the 'we hate Derek' bandwagon, I've decided to DL and play this game purely out of sympathy for the guy.
After you play it then we will have sympathy for you. I hope you have enough sympathy left for yourself.

And I want to hear your thought on the game after you play it.
