Out of the Blue

Happy Friday the 13th!

I don't really go for the theory that today is unlucky. I'd explain this to MrsBlue, but she's in the yard at the moment, because as she was opening a window in my office, her glasses fell off and out the window. I figure if the lawn managed to keep them from breaking, this could justify a theory that the 13th is lucky!

CNN, which is very biased to the left, just in a very subtle way, posts alot of AP stories. I believe about 50% on average are from the Associated Press.

Compare CNN & Fox's AP articles of the same report and what you'll notice is that CNN guts the story occasionlly, only printing half of it. The difference is that CNN shapes the report(by omission)so that after reading it and then speculating on it, you come up with the opinion they want you to have. I read both CNN & FOX daily & I've noticed this for awhile now.

Also, 7 out of 10 times when Warhawk post something from Fox News and Halsy (or others, many others do, I just like Halsy so I know his name!) rag on Fox News… it is actually an Associated Press story.

EXACTLY!

The vast majority of the time it is an AP or Reuters story, so why doesn't everyone demand that their "news source of choice" run these other stories as well? And yes, I also read CNN and other news sources online, but Fox just carries the stories others won't.

Fox is responsible for The Simpsons and Family Guy. They can have a network making up as much fake news and I still will love Fox. However, before someone says they do, they do not. They simply have a different opinion/view and show the other side…big whoopies.

Also, 7 out of 10 times when Warhawk post something from Fox News and Halsy (or others, many others do, I just like Halsy so I know his name!) rag on Fox News… it is actually an Associated Press story. The fact that only Fox News is willing to carry those Associated Press stories and other networks refuse to even mention them or put them on there website should tell you how biased those other networks are.

If you refuse to watch/listen/read Fox News while only getting your information from “tha other side” than you are an idiot (or if you are in another country with your equivalent of Fox News). That is akin to a judge only listening to the defendant in a criminal case and believing everything they say. A smart Judge will listen to both sides, both lies and piece together the truth…..try doing it sometime….

nobody is forcing anybody to tune into anything. In a world of free and plentiful choice, complaining about other people's choices is almost always a waste of time

and i can't help but wonder why everyone wants so badly to control what others are viewing. why get so passionate and angry about what some other guy on a forum is watching? each of us is (hopefully) and intelligent human capable of making our own choices.

i found that in my life, the more i got "into" politics, the more unhappy i was. the whole thing revolves around trying to force everyone else to do what you think they should be doing. it's all a game of control. and, since you simply can't control other people - you'll never win and never be happy. i opted out of that mess, and now i just worry about my own self. much less stress. i still pay attention to issues that are meaningful to me, and i still vote. but i just don't bother to "get into it" with other people any more.

Please don't rise to the Fox trolling. As with so much else that people moan and troll about, nobody is forcing anybody to tune into anything. In a world of free and plentiful choice, complaining about other people's choices is almost always a waste of time. News programs are a perfect example.

Warhawk actually watches FOX? You shouldn't man, you really shouldn't. I mean, if you care about truth or honesty. If what you want is neo-conservatives on your idiot-box hate-spewing and fear-mongering, then FOX is fine...

The Abyss... I thought someone had got that ages ago!! I used to think that was a great film, but I saw it recently and wasn't so impressed. Though the director's cut is considerably different to the theatrical cut. I can't remember which I like more.

hope Halsy isn't going to start complaining about the reliability of the story because it's on Fox ("Fucking Bush cronies kidnapped the man and chopped off his finger in an attempt to hurt the working class burger-flippers" or whatever shit he's going to come up with next).

Warhawk, just because you believe all the bullshit they continually throw at you doesn't mean the rest of us are that stupid. You were one of the cheerleaders wailing on about Iraq the imminent threat and how it's about time someone did something about it when I was syaing it was all bullshit and a resource based war. Gee, who was right and who's an unthinking, unquestioning sheep? Sucks to be you, huh?

I could swear I've heard Sigourney Weaver utter that line, but I can't for the life of me remember what movie it was!

With the ability to buy tickets online, is it really necessary to line up at the movie theatre? I figure you'd have less of a chance of getting in since all the tickets could potentially be sold before you got to the front of the line.

Ok who wants a spoiler, here's a spoiler... You will die alone.

What substance was Han Solo frozen in? (short silence followed by a group "Carbonite!") No no... I'm sorry, the correct answer was who gives a shit.

That's perfect... sounds exactly like him... but you're not breathing heavily. Imagine you've just run ten feet and are out of breath.
