Looking forward to this one. The description reminds me of that old (Psygnosis?) racing game in 1996 with the looped tracks.

Megarace was from Software Toolworks.
It reminds me more of Stunts (4DSport Driving).

Its a fantastic game. The editing facilities that ship with the game are amazingly simple to use and extremely powerful. Although it can get frustrating at times when trying to complete certain races.

Good game though

I hate the heavy car with a passion, everything else is pretty good. Not keen on having to do the cups to progress either, come to think of it.

We've had this about three weeks now, it's all I've been playing!

The heavy car is more technical, it gets fun after you learn it

The 'heavy car' i.e. Coast car is a tricky one but once you learn the handling you'll start to love it

Absolutely brilliant game; I can't recommend it enough. Hard as hell, granted, but the versatility of the track editor means that you don't even have to worry about getting stuck :).

Sure will become a sleeper hit, seeing as Enlight is probably only going to ship a hundred copies to some store in Idaho.

Heh, just yesterday I was at Best Buy pestering the sales dude to help me find this game. I thought it came out weeks ago - must have just gone gold or shipped in Europe or something.

Oh well, picked up Tribes Vengeance for $19.99 and am already having fun with the single player campaign.

I find it funny to see how far people have come to accepting DRM in games. In other formats (music/movies/broadcast bit/etc) whole wars are being waged, while in the games industry DRM has always been (pretty much) accepted. It would be interesting to see why, i think i comes from the fact that copy protection for most people always has been present in games, and most games have a relatively short life span (1 month of playing, and it's collecting dust again, so no need for a life long copy/backups).

But to come back to starforce, people questioning the protection is a legit action. Starforce is known to be the most incompatible protection scheme arround, and the people who ran into trouble with it before, have a right to know if they are gonna run into it again.

I knew it!

There is someone that liked Tribes: Vengeance...

Stunts... now there was a game... Two great fun things in that game... straightaways with sharp corners you could take at full speed, and hitting accelerate just as you leave a ramp and rocketing up in the air at full speed ; )

This is more insane than Stunts (wasn't that also on the Megadrive) and well lets just say, the designers of the courses leave a few subtle things here and there in a track that you find out by accident and think "Holy shit that rocks!"

Probably the best level that i've come across so far is the game's test course for graphics settings etc. You get to do a corkscrew over water and so many other nice little things in it. I love it. Which reminds me, i need to re-install it now.

Not to mention that StarForce installs device drivers on your system without your knowledge or permission and has "phone home" capabilities that can be used. In other words, it's spyware!
