Section 8 Declared

TimeGate unveils Section 8 on GameSpy announces that strategy developers TimeGate Studios have gone all wacky and have declared Section 8, an upcoming Unreal 3-engine first-person shooter. No release date is offered for the project, which is being developed for the PC and next generation consoles. Here's a bit:
"We are developing a large-scale, futuristic first person shooter that brings strategy and tactics to the first-person shooter genre in a game where players can modify the battlefield on the fly," said Adel Chaveleh, president of TimeGate. "We are going to leverage our knowledge of strategy games and apply it to Section 8's development. We are confident that players will be excited by the results."

Here's a mini-timeline:

1) They developed a pretty good, and innovative RTS: Kohan, that played differently from any other RTS on the market.

2) They develop Kohan II, a shitty excuse for a sequel that plays much closer to Warcraft 3 than its predecessor.

3) They develop Axis and Allies, which is Kohan II reskinned.

4) Generic FPS for $$$
