Battlefield 2 Demo Mid-June

A post on PlanetBattlefield (thanks Ant) has word on plans for the Battlefield 2 demo, saying the sample of DICE's upcoming military shooter sequel is expected in mid-June (around when the full game is due), and will offer one map. They picked this info up from executive producer Scott Evans during a community day demonstrating the game.

Go play Zork child, it has excellent game play, and no graphics at all.

Some people's kids...

What an unbelievably stupid and immature reply. So, I am a 'kid' because I find gameplay more important than the graphics?

Grow up and stop thinking that graphics are why you should like a game.

A quick look at your other posts show all you like to do is call people fucking retards and get into internet arguements.

Yeah, you are real mature........

that the game is done before you make a demo. Don't pull a screw up like Dungeon Lords and put out a demo that will hurt your sales.

oh goody! one week before release

As long as it is before the release, you can test it to see if you like it or not.

I swear, some people bitch just to bitch.

Very good news. I never played the other versions. I've been waiting for the graphics to catch up. Looks like they have. Most excellent.

Wait, you base purchasing a game on the graphics, not th game play?

I spent so much time up in the little bird in DC that it wouldn't be right to keep myself away from this.

Hell, I even enjoyed piloting the weaponless bird (skids version) at LAN parties and just ferrying troops.

I was the same way. Eventually I started ramming poor little troops when I got good enough at flying in cramped spaces. That always got people upset

I really hope the command structure thing they're using in BF2 works well on public servers, it certainly sounds promising. There really is a gap in the market for a fps game that manages to create a tight teamplay experience on pubs. That and decent physics are what I'm looking for.

The BF42 demo got out about a month before the game shipped, so if they're doing it this way again, we'll have the full game out at the end of july.

Oh well, I don't even think they released a demo for BFV so I guess this is still a good thing.
I thought, at first, they would do like most big name makers and release a demo AFTER the game released but then talk about there actually being a demo got me all worked up thinking it would be soon.

Guess I will enjoy DC-Final for a few more weeks longer... that is actually the one mod that kept me interested in BF1942 this long and I do likes me some DC action !!

When I visited EA over the summer, they seemed to infer that Trauma were indeed having a part in BF2, although officiall it was "we can't say."

Ok first off, the multiplayer demo of BF1942 with the map, Wake Island, owned. I loved that map so much. I actually was thinking the maps in the bought version sucked until I got used to them while mainly still playing the Wake Island map from the demo. Aside from BF1942 kicking ass in every area, Desert Combat is just so crazy and intense, it's hard to not like it. This will be like an updated on crack version of Desert Combat so again, how can it go wrong? Let's keep in mind also that BF Vietnam wasn't made by DICE Sweden which made BF1942, so that could have led to some of BF Vietnam's suckyness. So now bring on what the original creators have been working on for these past years! C-ya on the Battlefield!

i never ever liked the WW2 setting - i have no idea why it became so popular

but I still played 1942 for a while, then BF:V ...

i think BF2 is going to kick ass - theyve had more than enough time to get their shit really tightened up... the gameplay idea will be implemented better

plus its modern weapons/vehicles, so none of that slow, clunky bullshit

i was sold the moment i saw that movie with the fighter jet shooting a missle through the open doors of a heli...

and also 'voice over IP' helps team tactics so much its like a different kind of experience

I wasn't impressed with the BF1942 demo because they chose a poor map for it.

Good thing I eventually bought it, so damn fun.
