DreamCatcher announces that Dungeon Lords, Heuristic Park's RPG, is gold, and due in stores worldwide on May 4:
DreamCatcher’s Dungeon Lords Goes Gold

D.W. Bradley RPG off to Replication

Toronto, April 29, 2005 - DreamCatcher Games, an award-winning publisher of PC and console games, today announced Dungeon Lords has reached gold status worldwide. To mark the occasion, DreamCatcher has released the intro-cinematic for Dungeon Lords, created by Brain Zoo Studios, giving fans a taste of what to expect when the game ships on May 4, 2005.

Dungeon Lords blends the depth of an Epic Fantasy RPG with the flexibility of an FPS-style control system. Gamers journey through a land of ancient castles and dungeon lairs to engage in real-time tactical combat with a variety of deadly foes. It’s not just about the battles though, as magic spells and hundreds of powerful weapons and artifacts play a huge role in the game.

The game features an abundance of personal missions and quests along with numerous characters to interact with. Players can customize an extensive variety of skills and special abilities for the hero, including race and class specializations. The simple and intuitive design will thrill RPG and action fans alike and supports cooperative multiplayer for up to eight players.

Dungeon Lords Features:

    • Real-time player control of combat tactics, including a vast selection of weaponry, magic spells and powerful artifacts
    • Detailed character hero development that includes a host of personal attributes, skills, and special abilities
    • 4 completely different schools of magic
    • Multiple Class Specializations - each with unique abilities and attributes
    • Extensive Inventory that features common, rare, and unique items
    • Designed, written and developed by award-winning computer game author, D.W. Bradley

Multiplayer:

    • Full support for Multi-Player group game sessions for up to 8 players
    • Multiplayer adjusts to the number of players. The more players, the more difficult the monsters they encounter

Dungeon Lords has an ESRB rating of “T” for Teen in North America and “12+ PEGI” in Europe. For more information visit the game’s website at: www.dungeonlords.com.
That movie, mentioned last night (story), can be found on 3D Gamers, FileFront, and Gamer's Hell.

Gamers with the ability to socialize do, Exitium.
What's Guild Wars then? A single player, offline, antisocial game? Boy, you are a fucking moron. The point I was trying to convey but apparently failed, not due to my own shortcomings, but because you are really stupid, is that if I wanted to play a co-op game I'd rather go with a quality title like Guild Wars instead of some nth rate bullshit like Dungeon Lords.

As is usual for me I will wait until I read the reviews from the print and online sources I trust befroe making a purchasing decision. As a general rule, I don't do demos.

Crappy demo. Looks and plays like a poor ripoff combination of Rune and Dungeon Siege. I'll just be playing Guild Wars instead. Who cares about some half-assed coop in DL.

Tron, won't you at least read reviews to see if the issues you didn't like about the demo are fixed by release

perhaps... but it wasn't just the poor quality of the demo that turned me off - it was the presentation and the gameplay. to me it just felt amateurish and rushed - no polish. that is something a patch can't fix.

i'm a bit bummed because i had high hopes for the game. i will read the reviews when they become available, however based on the demo i'll be happier waiting a month or two for Dungeon Siege II, which i'm sure will be an excellent game (at least for my tastes). and of course, i'm waiting for next year's Neverwinter Night II.

I hated the demo at first but after tooling around with it for a couple of hours I kinda liked it. The constant spawning was a turn off though. But apart from that it was a decent demo just unusual and unusually hard until you got your head around it. I wouldn't buy it until it's in the bargain bins but I will buy it.

Blade and Mount suckered me in too. It kinda reminds me of Elite - hear me out - the way the trading works. Virtually every fight I got into I got my ass kicked though. Apart from the River Pirate slaughter where all my people got killed and I only managed to win by running away and peppering them with arrows.

i didn´t even find time to PLAY due to all the bugs and unfinished work.

I believe that the demo actually was taken from old code, a few months removed from when it actually went out. That said, there's no excuse for the state it was in. My particular favorite bug was spawning into the demo, then having every monster and enemy for a mile around spontaneously knowing where I was and coming to attack me, and dying more or less instantly. Combat seemed pretty crappy anyway.

That brings up a good point. Can a demo actually hurt sales? Bad demos bring a TON of bad publicity. It makes me wonder if some companies wouldn't be better of finishing the game first, patching it, then releasing a demo. Heck, it'd be great if they would finish the game the first time so that that they wouldn't have to patch it.

Yep, that demo was living proof that you should finish your game before making demos. They hurt themselves with that one.

Oh yeah, they publish Derek's games too don't they? Well at least his titles are "ambitious", this game seemed extremely basic and still managed to fail completely.

If you are dying for some medieval combat try Mount & Blade @ www.taleworlds.com it's an indie game so the graphics are pretty "dated" (lets be nice) but I have a blast playing it.

The demo was horrible, like valusoft quality. Pretty disappointing, like just about everything thats a PC RPG lately. Hope they patch it until its a decent game.

The demo was like the game was in bloody alpha, not even beta. Another POS D.W. Bradley game...no surprise there except why someone will pay to have this guy make a game when he obviously can't make games.
