I agree, I'm still using Win2000. I can't see a point in using XP Pro as I can tweak 2000 to run much faster. I'll skip the whole XP thing and maybe try out longhorn when I get a new computer. I have to see value in a new OS other than it slowing down my system even more.

So does this mean Microsoft will be going after the Longhorn transformation developers also?

I actually think the LongHorn interface looks okay, particularly a few themes. But the question remains is it worth spending the extra dollars for this XP plus! variation?

I've yet to see the benefit or significance of purchasing Windows Media Center... and that's available now. WTF?

In my opinion the OS gets coded heavier but the hardware remains in the state.

"It's all relative!" [ie: they redesign the OS to better but the hardware/API still performs at the level of it's predecessor because everything is just that much more encumbered]
