I tried to like this game, but it just wouldn't let me. It felt so console-ish, complete with clunky interface. It was more like a poor-man's Deus Ex than anything else. I even liked Deus Ex 2 better than this game. It doesn't have the right feel to it. It's even worse than the other games when it comes to the "alternate paths". Alternate path translates into "air duct" or "conveniently placed security panel". This is pretty sad, considering how long it's been since Deus Ex. You'd think that the developers would have an ounce or two of imagination to dedicate to coming up with something a little less tired.

It's basically a run-n-gun with Deus Ex gimmicks thrown in, even though they weren't well thought-out or well-implemented. I still find it amazing how easily impressed most reviewers are. This thing is actually getting fairly good scores. Sad to see how low our standards have sunk.
