Coppola Mad About
'Godfather' Video Game (thanks
Ant and
Voodoo Extreme) has
word that Francis Ford Coppola is critical of the decision to make the
Godfather into a video game, an offer he apparently was not given the
chance to refuse. Here is what the famed director had to say about the
adaptation of his masterpiece on an episode of AMC's Sunday Morning ShootOut set
to air this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. EDT:
"I knew nothing about it. They
never asked me if I thought it was a good idea," he says. "I went and I took a
look at what it was ... What they do is they use the characters everyone knows
and they hire those actors to be there and only to introduce very minor
characters. And then for the next hour they shoot and kill each other.
"I had absolutely nothing to do with the game and I disapprove," he says. "I
think it's a misuse of film."
