Psychonauts Gold? - Date

Majesco Opens the Door On Multiple Promotions in Support of April 19th Launch Of 'Psychonauts' Video Game (thanks Frans) is a bit of marketeering for Psychonauts, the upcoming "psychic odyssey" from Double-Fine Productions. The article focuses on plans to promote the game, but it also offers the off-hand indication that the game must be nearly complete for the PC and Xbox, if it is not actually gold already. Here's that part:
Psychonauts is scheduled to ship April 19th for the Xbox® video game system from Microsoft and PC, and for the Sony PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system in late spring.

All the reviews have been generally favorable to the game, but I would want to play a demo and, I suspect, see the game's price before considering a purchase.

Noting it took eight refreshes to get a clean post,

C'mon Ray! This man did Grim Fandango..... this game's development, I hope, is the only reason Oldmanmurray hasn't been updated since the ark last floated..... apparently they grabbed him for writing some of the in-game funnies....

I've watched your posts on these boards, Ray.... you single handedly keep several dozen staff at your local game stores gainfully employed.... you must.... Go with the force, Luke..... have faith and pre-order if it's available... this has to be good;P

I'll buy this simply because Tim Schaefer is such a twisted individual.

agreed, he needs to be supported. The gaming industry needs for men like him.

Count me in for buying that game...

not too sure about this one. Yes, it's made by THE hero who made Grim Fandango, but that was a long time ago. I was watching a clip of the game the other day. Seems like Schafer's strength in character development is intact. However, the game's "platform adventure" nature concerns me. We'll see how Tim handles it.

I made a mistake a while ago with DX:IW. Hey, it's being made by Specter (well, technically, by Harvey Smith), so it has to kick ass! Right. Won't make the same mistake again.
