...it did take a bit to load, roughly thirty-plus seconds, but that is not one of the longest loads I have ever experienced.

My random thoughts:
  • Wait...WTF? What is she saying? Oh wow, that is english.
  • Nice water effects.
  • Reminds me of an early Serious Sam showing.
  • Hmm...don't like the filter on the lava; makes jaggies appear.
  • Weapons could do with some tweaking; some look a little small, proportionally deformed, or cutesy.
  • They could all use some more oomph in the end results. Even if a weapon looks good, it is pointless if the sound effect or (firing/explosion) visuals do not.
  • Hee, hee, look at the old school mobs.
  • Erm...but look at that choppy animation.
  • Hey, that is neat how you can blow of the armor or explode the glass guy.
  • I like the shatter effect of the glass, but the color and consistency/clarity of the transparency could use some work.

The engine is good for what this game is and it has a decent "feel," but the weapon damage needs to be improved and the animation needs to have about twice the data. Otherwise, though likely a fun update for the original fans, it seems like it might be a little too faithful to the original game's enemies. Then again, if the animation is fixed and some humor is added, there would be a hokey retro thing going.
DAMN YOU CROTEAM, where is my Serious Sam 2???
Not recalling the first game,
Ray
