TrackMania Sunrise Beta Demo

The Digital Jesters Forums (thanks Frans) now offers downloads of a beta of the upcoming TrackMania: Sunrise demo. The beta demo requires a TrackMania CD to run. There is additional information in the post for those interested in participating in some additional bug-squashing with the team.

Every racing game sucks compared to Trackmania. They all make you race in a circle against cheating AI. The only way they can beat trackmania is with stuff you have to unlock(by beating the cheating AI of course) and better graphics(which isn't that hard to do if you make the player drive in a circle)

I don't read reviews and trust them blindly. I read reviews just for fun and try out the demo to see if I like a game or not.

Trust me Riley Pizt, TrackMania is not a bad game. Far from it. Lots of people absolutely love TM and are as hopelessly addicted to it as I am. But I think this is just a case of TM not being your kind of a game. Simple.

Even if Trackmania had a lot more good reviews than bad ones
The game magazine reviews I read wrote that the game was bad, and gave it a low score. Add the StarForce copy-protection to it, and you have a real piece of sh*t.

I can think of a lot of racing games which are better than Trackmania.

Trackmania SP was great, and the whole point of the thing was that you weren't choosing your brand of oil, types, suspension, gear ratios and the stuff that gets in the way of simple fun in other racing games.

From playing this sunrise beta, I'll definately buy this - I just hope you get access to all the stuff that was in the original trackmania without having to leave sunrise and start that up.

I didn't say bug free (no game is really bug free), but things have changed a lot since the first demo.
How can you say it is crap, apparently you don't know that product! You just seem to repeat what you've read in "major magazines". (Even if Trackmania had a lot more good reviews than bad ones).
It's where I'm lost... looks like an unlegitimate personal war. I can understand that you don't like starforce and go fight any game using it, there is quite "some" logic here, but not the reasons of attacking the game because someone didn't like it.

-bug-filled : no longer
LOL! I guess the developers got some magic wands to wave over the code in this new version.

So why telling everyone it's crap?
because it is, and also because companies which use StarForce should not be patronized.

Is that on the original Trackmania
Yes.

are you suggesting that Sunrise is going to have it (and if so, how do you know this?
Yes, because even the beta version requires the original Trackmania CD-ROM to run it.

Riley Pizt...
-simplified acrade style : it's subjective, just a matter of taste
-bug-filled : no longer
-no single-player component... : I guess the magazine which said that wasn't good enough to unlock all the races and puzzles (50 of each)...
and telling that there are plenty of better racing games without having played it...is a bit..I don't know the exact word.;P
So why telling everyone it's crap?

hmm... Starforce == bad. Is that on the original Trackmania, or are you suggesting that Sunrise is going to have it (and if so, how do you know this?)

I heard lots of good things about TM. Does anyone have details on how the new one differs (aside from the prettier graphics)?

This game uses StarForce copy-protection. Avoid it like the plague.

In addition, according to the major game magazine reviews, the game is a simplified, bug-filled, arcade-style racing game with essentially no single-player component. There are plenty of better racing games on the market.

All I can say is: \m/ Sunrise rules \m/

Looks, feels and plays different than the original but it still has the same good old addicting vibe. So damn great racing games.

I'm glad I pre-ordered Sunrise a few months ago

Trackmania is a great game, even if I haven't played it in a while now. I'm looking forward to getting this downloaded and trying it out (as soon as I dig out my CDs).

According to GameSpot (rated 8.0) … “Its earnest simplicity and pure addictiveness shine through over its few presentational and control rough spots, providing a wholly enjoyable game with plenty of lasting value and charm. TrackMania's other big draw is its multiplayer component."

I do not think you can shoot people, however, and no whores.
