First person Mortal Kombat? Yay!

The Unreal Engine does more than FPS, Splinter Cell, etc.

Not sure if there are any RPG'ers here, but Midway did release a great RPG for the PS2 in 2004...it was Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant. Very mature, great story, excellent combat, tons of optional side quests and replayability...shame it got buried under all of the other big releases.

"David F. Zucker. What an unfortunate name"

Unfortunate as in accidental? Naw. Ownership and control of USA corporations all reside with the same people. You know. Like how the Gamboni mafia family controlled drugs and prostitution and stuff. These families control hollywood, congress, the president, game industry, ecstasy sales in the USA. World Domination.

Just a heads-up that Harvey Smith is creative director of Midway Austin. I'm happy about that, personally, but I know some of the haters won't like it.

Psi Ops and The Suffering were very good games, so if they can couple thier gamecrafting skills with the Unreal engine, I'm all for it

for Unreal 2 to be made. Yes I know there was a game called Unreal 2, but if you actually played it the only thing good about it was XMP. Bring back the Nali! And the Cows!

I hope Midway make some more good games. I know there were a few i liked from them, but the names dont come straight to mind. I like em.

Good for them. Epic has always made great engines, and their partner support is second to none. Not to mention that the new engine is looking awesome if the tech demo movies are to be believed.

It'll be interesting to see how much compitition Doom and Source engines provide when the Unreal Engine 3 starts shipping. It seems Epic's got on a development cycle that puts them shipping iterations off-cycle with the other major providers. Which is really smart IMHO.

I'm pretty sure there was a Draken 2 game. It would be cool to see Draken 3 done well. I want to see the next generation already!

"Great next generation games will be defined by how far they push the envelope in terms of graphical prowess, evolved artificial intelligence and revolutionary online functionality beyond what gamers are currently experiencing," said David F. Zucker, president and chief executive officer of Midway. "Our obtaining the use of Unreal Engine 3 empowers us to begin today to produce great next generation content. Our internal studios are already in the process of creating incredible products with the Unreal Engine 3 technology in multiple genres."

Whoa, big fella! Easy on the power pharses there, Davie-boy, or you'll sprain your tongue.

Edit: Damn, there were so many that I missed one first time around.

Anyone remember Drakan? That was a great game - developed by Surreal Software. I'd love to see a Drakan 2 powered by UnrealEngine 3.0.

Edit: Yes, I know there was a second Drakan game for the Playstation - but it wasn't called "Drakan 2" and used the same technology. More of a mission pack than a sequel.
