Torque gets Jacked

The Sproing Interactive Media Website (thanks Frans) has revised their description of their upcoming motorcycle racing game that formerly was known as Torque: Savage Roads. Presumably because the movie Torque from which it drew its license hit theaters over a year ago, the game is no longer a movie tie-in, and will now be titled Jacked. In spite of the change, the description of the game remains exactly the same: "Choose a biker and try to lead him to ultimate victory - win races any way you can! A selection of hand-to-hand weapons will help you to beat those pesky upstart biker gangs..."

I still think that Road Rash 2 was the best of the bunch. EA got it right on that one, as fun as 1 with some good graphical improvements. Then they went and made 3 I think, or the one for SegaCD?Saturn?Genesis?(can't remember) and it tried to use photo-bitmaps for the characters and bikes and it looked ASStastic.

Also this is a good move for Sproing(ehh, terrible name), because that movie is total and utter trash. It's been on HBO or Skinmax lately on repeat and it is God awful. The acting, if thats what you want to call it, is terrible. And the rediculous amount of product placements for Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Bud are rediculous. Fast and the Furious on bikes? No, this is much worse, it's in another level of out right badness. If you happen to catch it on TV, try to stomach 5-10 minutes of it, it is halirious for all the wrong reasons. Hopefully Sproing will continue to distance itself from that terible license and come closer to RR2.

what was even the point of having a movie tie-in with a movie no one has ever heard of?

Yeah really! But speaking of 8bit, that side scrolling motorcycle game for the NES was fun. You could build your own tracks!

Excitebike, you fool! (Hey, everyone else is saying it.)

You talkin' ExciteBike?

If so, it can still be found for the GBA (I've got it on one of those wacky 121-in-1 carts). Still holds its own in the really-annoyingly-hard-at-times category, that's for sure

Change it to "Straight to the Bargain Bin".

You are smoking crack dude... Road Rash for 3DO was fucking beautiful..

But yes... Roadrash for Genesis was fucking great... But If I had to choose between 3DO or Genesis, I would pickup and play the 3DO version before the Genesis.. Those 8 bit graphics make my eye hurt.. At least with 3DO you get 3D environments that show off some serious speed..

Funny. This isn't a new name for the game. It is a return to the original name. This is an old 3DO game that was in development when they closed up shop. Jowood bought the partially completed title. That game started development over 3 and a half years ago...

Road Rash 2 on the Genesis was one of the greatest games ever conceved. I loved the code to get the stealth black bike, and beating people down was never more satisfying than when you had the cattle prod.

The only really good RR was the original Genesis.

Future ones, be it still on the Genesis, on the PC, or on the 3DO couldn't quite compare to how much fun the original was.

Hell, I bought a Genesis solely for that game. In the end I had 3 games total, but Road Rash was really the only one I played often.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.
