Battlefield 2 Delayed [Jan 25, 2005, 8:16 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments

posted some highlights of an
EA investor's conference call today that included news that Battlefield 2 is
delayed, and that DICE's military shooter sequel will be available fiscal Q2
2006 (April-June 2005), rather than March as was planned. They also fessed up to
a delay to the next console Medal of Honor game and hinted at plans to try to
develop a new baseball franchise in spite of losing the Major League Baseball
Players Association license.

My source from EA tells me that they're delaying the release of some of their upcoming 2005 titles to port them to next-generation consoles like the XBox 2, which was confirmed a few days ago for a Q4 05 release. He didn't mention BF2 specifically, but any amount of deductive reasoning is enough for verification.
I knew this was coming. Great, now we will have some crappy textured POS built for the PS2.

well, EA publishes just about every goddam game now, so it's no surprise that there are numerous delays associated with EA games.
i am certainly saddened by this news. even though pushing it back only a couple of months doesn't seem so bad... on the other hand they could just be stringing us and investors along. not a new concept in this industry

Guys, second quarter fiscal year 2006 starts in April 2005 (how screwed up is business anyway). The delay is only a couple of months at worst.

Of course it's delayed. EA needs at least a year to dumb it down and fuck it up completely so that they can sell it to the console crowd.

The fiscal year starts in April I believe, so it would be first fiscal year 2006.
Its a sad day for BF2. DICE bought out, then this!
