Well, we got belted with the promised blizzard, once again lending eerie
credibility to the occult art that is meteorology. In a delightful turn of
events, a knock came on the door last night from an ambitious young man eager to
come by today after the snow ends to shovel our walk. Happy with the
opportunity to avoid this horrible manual labor, we agreed to a $20 fee, which
will be a terrible rip-off to him, so if he comes through, he can expect
something like a 100% tip. Meanwhile, however, my neighbor's son is out there
right now trying to get a snow-blower running, and I suspect if he does he may
just blow my walk as well. MrsBlue suggested asking him not to since we promised
the kid the job, but I don't think I want to risk the kid blowing us off (or not, depending on how you read that) and leaving
me the job, so I think I'll sit tight, and if my neighbor comes through, just
give the kid the twenty anyway.
Gosh being lazy is a lot of work!
Anyway, I sure am looking forward to some January football today. And of course,
I hope you're safe and sound where you are.
