More WoW Woes

This WoW Gameplay Discussion (thanks Voodoo Extreme) offers a message from Blizzard Entertainment president Mike Morhaime on the ongoing difficulties being experienced in World of Warcraft, their MMORPG. The update describes why 20 realms had to be taken offline, and how players from the impacted realms will be receiving a total of seven free days added to their subscriptions due to this and another glitch earlier in the week. The update concludes with promises and apologies:
I want to take this opportunity to say that we will do everything possible to ensure that unexpected downtime like this does not occur in the future and that if it is necessary, we will do everything possible to give you better warning and keep you informed. In the future, we will avoid doing maintenance during peak hours, unless no other alternative presents itself. When complications occur that could impact your playing time, we will provide that information as well. We failed to do this last night, and I assure you that we are making changes to ensure that we do a better job of communicating with our players next time.

I want to extend my personal and heartfelt apology for the problems that some of you have been experiencing on our servers. We remain committed to delivering the best possible service for you and will continue to work around the clock to ensure that we provide an experience that you and I have to come to expect from Blizzard games.

I have yet to see a huge battle that didn't crash the server I am at this point unsure if the server/netcode can support them. 100+ people in battle + some spawning guards = rip server.

Any time that groups of people start fighting in an area, even if it is just thirty total people, the server just goes mad with disconnects and lag.

As for the Paly, talk about an overpowered class. As a warrior, my role is supposed to be the tank (or even DPS, according to Blizzard, but I won't even touch that one...,) but the only thing that makes me a "tank" is using stamina-increasing items and having plate armor, including a shield.

You know, the e - x - a - c - t s - a - m - e armor that a paly can have.

There is taunt, but that is broken on so many levels and the paly does have a frequent-use AE pull...

Armor - Tie - Warrior and paly have same.

Weapons - Tie - Warrior and paly can have same or equivalent melee weapons.

Magic/rage - Paly wins - Warrior has to build up rage, doesn't gain rage from being hit or missing six times in a row (sure increases my rage,) it will not auto-regen in combat, and/or has to sacrifice 10% of its health just to get the rage for one special. This is compouned by the warriors insane hit statistics and having rage gain be based on damage; nothing like spending an entire battle just to get off two, maybe three, sunder armors against a boss or 31337 mob. Meanwhile, Paly gets a nice, fat mana pool to start out with.

Specials - Paly wins - The paly has nine lives :), can heal (a huge thing), and has various other powerful spells/auras (including ones that can increase his armor way past anything my "tank" warrior can have via natural means.)

Talents are broken for many classes and the warrior stances are a jumbled mess; Blizzard's literal last minute changes still puzzle me...

Blah blah blah...I will hit 60, save up for my lev 60 mount, maybe do a few instances for a week or so to get the nice gear, and then just cancel the account.
