Universal Combat: A World Apart in May

DreamCatcher Games announces they've signed on to publish Universal Combat: A World Apart globally this May, in spite of last year's since-resolved legal clash between the publisher and developer 3000 AD (story). In addition to this stand-alone retail boxed version of the space combat simulation, there will also be a version of A World Apart released as an expansion for the original Universal Combat, but this will only be distributed electronically via various ecommerce sites. More information on the expansion and how it will differ from the boxed edition can be found on this page.

Derek posted this on his site's forum under the Universal Combat category...

"Do NOT post ANYTHING in this forum related to this issue or you will be BANNED as soon as the thread is deleted. Enough is enough. If some of you can't pay attention and follow SIMPLE instructions, you have NO BUSINESS playing this type of game that requires such attention."

This is a classic Example of why Derek Smart is an ASSHOLE! Basically says, "Hey! Dumb ass! if you can't learn my game from osmosis, then go fuck yourself." Read any review and most of your time will be spent on just trying to figure out how the hell to do something. Here's a newflash! Most games has intelligent installers that FINDS where the game is installed and updates appropriately!

If Sid Meier or any other dev was working on BC I support them but when you have a choad like Smart and game like BC mixxed together... you get the idea. The man is a bitter individual. I worked with him before. Trust me. He's ego-centric, isn't professional, angry, basically everything you've ever heard about him is pretty much true.
