Ugh. I suppose if I only had EQ2 I'd give this a shot, but I forgot how much this reminded me of PSO.

Got a full active guild in WoW and having a blast - so I gotta go with that.

Escape key doesn't close windows.

That's a deal breaker for me.

The crafting is a lot easier to do this time around and the missions are pretty pretty well balanced to keep you entertained.

I'm liking it a lot more than I did in the beta for WoW.

ANet - add dance moves for monks!

"I've got a weekend key for sale. If you just want to try the game out and not preorder I'd be willing to sell it for about $5.50 paypal."

Dude are you serious? Why would anyone want to buy a single weekend beta when they can go to EBGames preorder by putting $5.00 down, get the disc, play all the weekend betas (not just one), and then cancel their pre-order if they don't like the game? Not to mention they also get a weekend pass for a friend in the pre-order box...

Sorry, just thought your post was slightly funny. I guess somebody may find your offer appealing... if they don't have access to an EBGames, BestBuy, GameStop, etc...

I played the 2nd Beta World Event and have access to all the rest but haven't gone back since the first time around. I had fun but the game just felt like a better Dungeon Siege as far as the action. It also felt just as lacking in so many ways... I know it's a beta and I have hope but I won't try it again until close to launch or release. And if it still feels empty I will cancel my pre-order.

i really had a bad time playing it during the world preview

i would rather go play diablo 2 (at least in diablo2 you have 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999 items to combine with your stats points/skill tree etc )

the world preview was just boring

What have they done since the last beta? I really enjoyed the first preview we had during E3, but the last beta weekend seemed to show a leaning towards a less... original experience. Maybe I just didn't care for the setting of that one, or expected too much, but I no longer really see the benefit of Guild Wars over, say, Neverwinter Nights.

I'm getting tired of the guided RPG/hack and slash experience, I guess.

They are making significant improvements with each preview. At this pace they will have a super game by the time it comes out in april or whenever. Many of folks will be weary of EQ2/WoW by that time as well.

They made some nice strides in this new event. They integrated the exploration areas a lot better than last time. You can find quests in the exploreable areas that you can't get in town.

I didn't get to play much last time but this weekend is a little calmer for me.

lvl4-5 Monk/Necro named Corpse Jumper.

Try the Tombs of Primeval Kings (make a pre-made PvP build or a level 20 char).

You're gonna love it.

The more I play this the more I don't like it. It just feels way too 'been there, done that'.

The Fileplanet keys were for all subscribers, not just paying ones. I don't know if that's still going on, though.

Hi guys,

I've got a weekend key for sale. If you just want to try the game out and not preorder I'd be willing to sell it for about $5.50 paypal.

The people who pre-ordered the game can also invite someone else.. once.. to play for a weekend. That's about all the time I needed to get my fill.

this is apparently only for people who have preordered the game? The post here is somewhat misleading.

I was very excited about this, until the last World Preview Event. Played it for 4-5 hours that weekend. Maybe it was the class I chose--monk-mesmer--but I was a little bored by the game. Just not quite enough to do, I think.

However, I am actually tempted to try again.

I consider it to be Diablo 3. If you liked Diablo and Dungeon Siege, you will like this game. They've essentially turned the old battlenet chat channels into towns where your character can trade and form parties, but not fight. When you go fight you're off in your own little world with your party (no monthly fees because they're not hosting persistent world servers). Your PvE parties are around 6-8 people and your PvP battles are around 8v8. It's not a MMORPG any more than Diablo or DS was. I do like the spell interface much better than DS. I don't like the max level limit of 20, which is where you'll probably start getting tired of the game after 100 PvP matches.

Fileplanet had a subscriber special where if you signed up you got into the Guild Wars beta. Not positive if its still going on but if it is, I'm sure the $7 monthly fee is less expensive than pre-ordering just to get in the beta.

Hey, just curious, I was interested in possibly preordering to be able to participate in the beta (as i understand this is the only way to participate?) to determine if I liked the game. I would like to hear what you felt needed work or wasn't "complete" (yes i realize its beta...easy killah) and maybe a bit on what you thought it lacked? I have watched most of the in game movies and since this game has no monthly fee (c'mon other dev's try to follow suit with this) it has piqued my interest. Please elaborate!

Thanks,

Interest in this game used to be very high, but it seems to be waning. I enjoyed the betas, but not enough to purchase it (unless they make many more changes). I wonder if their previews of the game were a good thing.
