Game Movies

The F.E.A.R. E3 movie is now available with no watermarks, this had previously appeared with the GameSpot logo delicately enhancing its visuals. The unblemished version of the trailer for Monolith's upcoming shooter can be found on 3D Gamers, Boomtown (registration required), Fragland.net, and Worthplaying. Also, The Excalibur Publishing Website now offers downloads of a new Star Wolves trailer (thanks Frans). This clip shows off gameplay from the space combat game that is already available in Russia, available in high and low resolution formats.

Blood and Shogo...

Then again, there was Blood 2. Ugh.

Looks cool, but I'm convinced that they've got Coach Z doing the voice-acting, at least for the guy over your comm.

That video is pretty rad. The only thing I don't like is the character near the end that goes translucent/refractive. It looks like what I see when I have a migraine. And that isn't very pleasant.

WTF is with the weapons putting out all that smoke when they shoot? Did they go back to using black powder?

All I can say is wow.

The engine looks like it combines the best of the Doom3, HL2, Max Payne 2, Splinter Cell, Riddick, and DX:IW systems, all at once - and then throws in a seriously impressive particle system, a more dynamic set of environments than I've ever seen, and a ton of really decent model and texture work.

To top it all off, the game somehow manages to incorporate a reasonably unique-seeming plot (which Monolith have yet to disappoint me on), great animation, and a very robust-seeming sound and music system.

To top it all off, I love fighting in office environments for some stupid reason... I firmly believe this is going to rock.

I think this might be top of my list of "most-wanted" games. The only thing I'd say to Monolith is, please, please make sure it's done before you ship it. I'd hate to have a game this fantastic-seeming ruined by a bad first impression.

Looks pretty damn fun, with an odd moment of brilliance thrown in. Bullet-time, melee attacks (jumping-kicking your opponent), nifty warped explosion effects. I also really like how the narrative is being played with from different perspectives (at least in the movie).

I think F.E.A.R. will turn out to be an excellent game. I have yet to be unhappy with any game I've bought from Monolith. Tron 2.0, NOLF, NOLF 2, Aliens vs. Predator 2, etc.
