Back when I was a pipefitter one of the things I was always told was to avoid sitting on the pipes, especially cold pipes, because it could cause hemorrhoids. When you're an apprentice first starting out you never know when you're being told the truth or being set up for some joke, but it wasn't hard to see that most of the guys would always go out of their way to find someplace else to sit.

My "younger" older brother lived above a Bar with a good friend of ours for a few years, and we would do the "trifecta" at least once a week.

Start at "Main Street Bar and Grill" downstairs, then go down 2 blocks to "________" it is called something else now, but I don't remeber the name of it - where they had 2-1s from 3-7 pm, and this was no stingy place. We would get whiskey sours or capt cokes 2-1. And this was no rocks glass drink, this was straightup tallboy 80% booze and 20% or less additive. Play some pool and cross the street back down the block to "Mitch's". We would play the paddle wheel and some pull-tabs to complete the trifecta.

It got interesting when the game continued, because the whole idea of the "trifecta" was to see how many times it could be completed in a given evening. Order 1-2 drinks at each place, then walk to the next. Since 2 were across the street from eachother, it was even shaped like a triangle.

This kind of activity is the type that led to my friend (41 years young) to have a stroke last year. Needsless to say we don't do that anymore.
