Out of the Blue

Well it turns out MrsBlue has the flu... something I knew before the doctor told us, since I took my own temperature before leaving for her appointment because I was feeling achy, and I was running a fever of 101. The good news is that I tend to fight things off surprisingly quickly, and I'm feeling okay again already, after having one of those restless trying to sleep-off-an-illness kind of day. This all put off our poodle puppy pickup until later this morning, when we'll have our first experiences with the little character we plan to name Gunner, so now he'll be our Christmas Eve present.

2. The ad on the right hand side of that page was for the "Peter Jennings 'Person of The Week'" I don't know if it was an ad or if that was part of the article, but that was damn funny.

Hey, just got C&C - Generals yesterday as a gift - guess what will be taking up my time this week if the anticipated rain sets in....

Also got one of the items I was really hoping for - LOTR ROTK (4-disk set).

Life is good right now.....

Off to visit the in-laws until Monday!

Good morning, and Merry Christmas to you all. My Christmas gift to myself was a 10.5 hour sleep last night.

I hope you all have a good day, and for those of you who don't do Christmas, have a good day anyway.

Now I get to venture out into the arctic tundra to go visit my parents and attend my niece's first Christmas. Ah heck, it's only -16C (3F) out there without windchill, that's not even the coldest it's been this week.

Happy Ho-Ho!

Merry Christmas everyone, or whatever other holiday you choose to celebrate at this time. Here's to another year at Blue's.

Couldn't have said it better myself, so, ditto.

John Chasseur: Mom, the TV's broken. What are we gonna do all night?
Connie Chasseur: Celebrate the birth of Christ!

Gus: Caroline and Loyd, will get the coffee and deserts then we'll be opening presents.
Connie Chasseur: We can't open presents til midnight.
Gus: Why not?
Connie Chasseur: Because it's not Christmas until midnight!
Gus: We'll be changing the rules, a little bit. We are opening the presents now. Not later, now. Why? We're adults, and we can open our presents. WHENEVER WE WANT!

So, having dealt with all the morons who see any comment about a problem with IE as an opportunity to push their worthless agendas, again: anyone else (with a brain) have this problem, and have a solution that isn't political?

Yes I understand that I've opened the door to all the infantile comments from the IE/Microsoft hater open-source Linux hippies here - but to actually get back to the problem....

I use adware/spyware cleaning software daily - so that isn't the problem.

This problem has just started in the last week - multiple pop-over ads at a dizzying pace. I was wondering if there has been some change in the site, and if there is some solution other than dumping IE ('hey, if your arm hurts, cut it off') because I like IE and consider it the best browser available, having tried all the others, which suck in more ways than IE does. Opera is a joke, Firefox is bug-ridden, and Netscape is a dinosaur. Also Linux is for people who can't afford a real operating system and who are too cheap to pay for their software, and open-source is the single largest threat to the software industry in existence (imagine Chevrolet saying "Hey I know - let's give our cars away and that way more people will drive them and we'll beat our competition...and we don't have to worry about support, or being in business longer than a month, or really anything because we'll bankrupt the entire automobile industry! Isn't that a great idea?').

So, having dealt with all the morons who see any comment about a problem with IE as an opportunity to push their worthless agendas, again: anyone else (with a brain) have this problem, and have a solution that isn't political?

Ahh well, I guess that just keeps me from sending an e-Christmas-sick_o’_porn card for Christmas.

Seriously, Merry Christmas to everybody that celebrates it. Here is to hoping you all have a great time with your family if you where fortunate enough to get to see them this holiday season, and fortunate enough to have one.

So what's the difference between it and the older version? It just runs under XP now?

That'd be the biggest thing. They also re-mastered the FMVs, and I'm pretty sure they've cleaned up the graphics a bit.. not sure about that though. They certainly don't look like they're only 256 colours...

Still only 640x480 though. I've found that running my desktop at 800x600 just puts it in a box in the middle of the screen and sharpens things up nicely while still allowing you to see what's going on.

The children of all ages putting together swear words get a bit tiring after a while.

And don't forget the inevitable dragging of all the letters into a single corner.
