TrackMania Website has opened up beta testing of the upcoming Speed Up! add
on for TrackMania, Nadeo's puzzle and driving game (thanks Frans). This is an
open beta, though it requires that TrackMania: Power Up! be previously
installed. There's a thread

TrackMania Forum to discuss the beta.

I love/d TM.... only thing is that I can't seem to config my PS2 joypad to work properly with it (gah). Can't remap the X to be the accelerateor, y'see.
I am honestly surprised this game sold enough units to warrent an add-on.
Maybe you did not play TrackMania enough or it just is not your kind of a game? I must admit that when I first tried the TM BetaDemo1 I was like "argh... another one of these straight to uninstall crappy game demos" but then I decided to give it another go and here we are now, still playing, 14 months later and no end in sight
By the way... Speed Up! is the second free expansion pack for TM.

I'll miss our races over the holidays, but hopefully we can get a few rounds in late next week.
Everybody's different, I suppose. I've been gamin' for 25+ years and I don't think any game has held my attention for as long as Trackmania has.
Dr. Evil (see above post) and I have been playing Trackmania pretty much every single day for the last year and a half.

I played the demo for about an hour and uninstalled it, just couldn't get into puzzle racer genre.

Oh yeah. Been testing and playing this new version. Simply love the new blocks and features. The net code seems to have improved also.
Why NADEO still calls this an alpha is a mystery because v1.35 sure feels like a late beta to me
