A new Project: Snowblind movie is online, showing off Crystal Dynamics' upcoming shooter that began life as Deus Ex: Clan Wars. The accompanying description for the movie includes the release date for this project: "Get a glimpse of the hype in motion from beautifully colorful environments packed with action, to the unique gadgetry and weaponry that set this game apart from the pack. Dust off those Flachette rifles, and lay down the riot walls, the date has been set. Project: Snowblind will be available at top retailers on February 23rd 2004 across North America for PS2, Xbox & PC." The movie is available for download on the Eidos Interactive Website and mirrored on 3D Gamers. Also, there's a movie from the newly revealed Godfather game on the German Electronic Arts Website, showing the Don in a cut-scene with German subtitles. Finally, the Voodoo Island Screenshots Page offers some new shots along with four brief gameplay movies from Voodoo Island, Spirit's upcoming "dark and gritty action adventure (thanks Frans).

It's crazy how time flies.
This thing has been out for almost 10 months now and I never even noticed.

If a game ships with alot of bugs I blame both the developer and publisher, when a game is pure crap I blame the developers alone.

Go look at the HOT DEALS spot for pc games at www.ebgames.com and you too can buy DX:IW for a buck.

The Game was consoled 3 ways from sunday and there is absoutly no way to deny that from the first game. They good an excellent game and decided to push the limits, but not with the gameplay, but with the graphics engine, which in the end killed the series. And in general seems to be a trademark of all games published under Eidos lately. (Tomb Raider anyone?)

I would rather Deux Ex be a 1 hit wonder then Ion Storm attempt anything more with the franchise.

I think Ion Storm / Harvey killed the license, with the rather lacklustre Invisible War, which sold VERY poorly.

It's a shame, I think Warren had plans for at least two more games in the Deus Ex universe
To tell you the truth, I think a lot of misconceptions killed the Deus Ex universe. I still believe that Deus Ex was a beautiful mistake, in which its unintentional design spawned a fanbase willing to push the limit, and reveal the true potential of a game design theory in which you do not limit the player.

I personally feel about Specter and Harvey the same way I feel about Tim Cain, and many other designers. They have the passion, they have the concept that pushes the limits, but the implementation always ends up with many shortcomings. They are the kind of people that open the windows, not design the house that stands against a hurricane. With the current crowding of the games market, we're becoming much more critical as consumers, and those shortcomings are highlighted.
There was nothing wrong with the initial idea of DX:IW, it was the implementation that restricted it. Like attempting to focus a light and the focus dulling the color.

At least they severed all ties to Deus Ex with this crap. Shame Eidos already killed the license.

As for Snowblind, pah, it seems more like a gimmick game than anything else.

Sounds pretty scripted.

Cheesey voice-over aside, snowblind looks pretty good. My only gripe is with those "punches" that recoil the instand contact is made, they make the slow motion scene look pretty odd..
