Official SÖLDNER: Secret Wars Website now offers the recently promised
(story) sign-ups to beta test the upcoming SÖLDNER add-on (thanks
Robert). Word is:
There will be several phases of the beta so don't worry if you won't be accepted at the start. If you are accepted as an 'Soldner - Addon' Closed Beta Program participant an E-mail will be sent to the address you provide with further details. Minimum requirements are: Age of 18, Broadband Internet Connection, 2 Ghz Processor, 512 MB RAM and a GeForce 3 equivalent video card.

The Add On is merely new content. All code fixes, enhancements and core gameplay features of the Add On will be patched to the retail at no cost. Add On players can play with retail players. The only advantage they get is that the new weapons, units and class can be obtained only with the add on, but you can give retail players the add On weapon to play if you like.
I signed up for it.
I assume they are very aware of the problem, and therefore are fixing it. The latest update was supposed to address a lot of the net code problems.

I would have to say I agree... Work on the game, THE NET CODE before focusing on an Add-On, Good lord.

The problem is, it *is* fun after the patches, but too late :\
