I played PoP:SoT on PC and had absolutely no problems with the keyboard/mouse combo. I have played all NFS games (except NFSU2) on keyboard and several XWing/Wing Commander games as well. And I am using keyboard/mouse combo for FPS/TPS since Magic Carpet originally started the craze of circle strafing.

Having said that, I bought Logitech Dual Analog gamepad ($20) two months back, and the difference, analog controls make is unbelievable. Turning corners and dragging is great in NFSU. Richard Burns Rally became playable and what an awesome game it is. Even the sneaking in some third person games including PoP:SoT, is a lot more satisfying using analog stick compared to shift-w or the mouse wheel approach as in Splinter Cell.

This doesn't mean that dual analog gamepads are good for every PC game, but for the games that they do benefit, the difference is amazing. And Prince of Persia is one such game.

Eh, are you guys being serious? I used keyboard/mouse in Sands of Time and hated the camera angle. It was constantly trying to fight me.

If the controls for this game are like the first, I'm busting out my Thrustmaster.

I am soo glad this title is on the PC! The keyboard/mouse combo makes the game right at home for me. No matter if its supposedly harder than using a gamepad I give the developers much credit for implementing the PC controls. It couldve been like the other cheesy console ports and just have you use WASD and the numberpad with no mouselook or anything but it doesn't go the cheap way out. The Prince is the reason why I game today so having him back AGAIN is totally spectacular! I especially love the much darker tone and it being much more mature now, to me it brings a quality title that much closer to perfection! Imagine a game like this with CoOP man that would rock!

I'm a in the middle of the second tower right now. No problems with the keyboard and mouse approach.

Those who have played the demo will be pleasantly surprised by somethings and pissed off by others. First all the cool combos that you could do in the demo you don't get until you get this new sword. I felt really crippled in some of the early boss battles.

You will enjoy the new polishes that have been added to the game. The prince no longer picks up weapons with his hands but flips them up with his foot. A couple other stylistic touches have been added.

Those who have played the first game may be a little upset by how much more acrobatic he is now. There are a ton of jumps in the game that simply are not possible, but the prince somehow makes them. He can now wallwalk for almost 20 feet. Ridicilous, but still fun.
Overall the game is pretty fun.

I'm the same way when it comes to gamepads..never got used to them. I do have one of those $20 belkin dual stick pads for FIFA & NBA live. As for Racing games, nothing beats a wheel or an old fashion joystick.

Anyways from what I've read online, some people do not want to buy any sticks, pads or wheels just because they feel it's to childish to own gaming peripherals & even worst to have them exposed next to their PCs. ( think i read that in a review of a collapsable stick.)

I do not agree with that attitude... I'm over 30 & would rather play a good game then watch reality TV or what ever is on nowdays.

Interesting. I'll have to see. I have a complete aversion to gamepads - just can't stand 'em. Even when we play racing games (NFS, etc) at LAN Parties, I'm a keyboard guy...(heck, played thru Doom, Quake, and the first part of Quake 2 with a keyboard only - switch to mouse control inthe middle of Quake 2, when my friends were "starting" to get more kills than me at DM)

Best bet is a PS2 to USB converter as the Sony PS2 pads do rule the world! (it's true Bush is controlled by one - but it's a cheap knockoff and the autofire is stuck on =)

If your in the uk you can pick them up for a tenner from game (although a proper sony pad will cost £20 if you don't have one)

It's not just you, I've heard others say the same. I'll try playing it with a joystick when I get it, if that doesn't work out I guess I'll just get a gamepad - they're not very expensive.

Yeah, sands of time was perfectly playable on the pc, but with this version you have all sorts of fighting-combo's you can make (which didn't existed in sands of time), which work well on a gamepad, but are very awkward on the keyboard/mouse.
(maybe it's just me, would like to hear if others feel like it too)
And this game is also largely fighting based instead of puzzles, so you'll have to use it often.

I also had no problems playing the first one with the keyboard. The first game really felt like I was going back to gaming roots and was just playing because it was just so damn fun.

... I'm still wondering where the sexual themes for this comes from...

This game was definitly made for the console only, on the pc you can only get decent gameplay with a gamepad, with the keyboard/mouse it is definitly much harder.
Be aware of that if you want to buy the pc version, try the demo first so you know what you'll get.
