BF Vietnam & BF 1942 Patches

The Battlefield Vietnam Website now features a new version 1.21 patch for DICE's military shooter, offering incremental updates for both clients and the servers. Likewise, there are also incremental client and server patches on the official Battlefield 1942 Website. In each case, these patches close off an undisclosed exploit shared by both games that was identified by a member of the community. The BF Vietnam patches are also available on 3D Gamers, 4Players.de, ActionTrip, Boomtown (registration required), Gameguru Mania, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying; while the BF 1942 patches are also mirrored on 3D Gamers, 4Players.de, ActionTrip, Boomtown (registration required), Gameguru Mania, Gamer's Hell, and Worthplaying.

I suppose the highly enclosed restrictive arena style matches appeal to some people. I guess it is kind of different.

on another note, I'm really glad their LiveUpdate agent that runs all the time in the corner lit up and told me about this! /sarc

You can't really compare CS to DC, it's two types of gameplay.

I still play DC daily. It's not just twice the game that CS:S is it's twice the game that plain old CS is. I never understood the popularity of that game. DC's still great but BF2 will own all.

I gave CS:Source a spin, of course.
The map was so small I laughed out loud after two rounds.
Then went back to DC.

I actually miss 'em both, but so many games have come out since with significantly better engines.

And we all know games are only about eyecandy. Heh

*Edit* whoops forgot the end tag.

It's hard for me to believe that ANYONE is still playing these. I actually miss 'em both, but so many games have come out since with significantly better engines.

I play Galactic Conquest (Try and beat me if I am in a Tie Interceptor... just try.) and Desert Combat Final everyday. I can't see multiplayer gaming getting any more fun than these.

We'll see what HL2DM brings. For a few months. Then BF2 will own them all.

HL2, CSS and WoW have ensured that both BF1942 and BFV are nothing but a distant memory of my gaming journey. That said, I am looking forward to BF2 -- a lot.
