That doesn't mean it's in-game. I think it's very obviously not. It's either a render from a 3d app or a heavily edited screenshot. I don't think that matters in any case.
Steve, it is a screenshot taken from with-in the Source engine and probably touched up in photoshop. If it was "rendered in a 3D app" then you wouldn't see any jaggies. If that's the case (which I seriously doubt) then the "applications" renderer fucking sucks. It simply doesn't make sense for them to set up that scene in another application just to render that image when they could use the engine and touch it up in photoshop. Like I said before, the only thing that seems photoshopped is the blur effect around the toilet. It looks just like the motion blur filter. The source engine supports radiosity and bloom effects. Of course, the bloom effect could have easily been touched added in photoshop.
I could easily produce an image similiar to this one by using a screenshot taken from with-in the game and touching up in photoshop.
