Dumbing down titles is in a way like this:

A restaurant with 4 stars in the Micheleng guide will perhaps have 12.000 visitors a year, and be regarded as one of the best restaurants in the world.

THe local McDonalds will serve 45.000 vistors, and worldwide many millions.

Will people say that McDonalds serve better food than the 4 star restaurant?

Rainbow 6 is the 4 star restaurant
RAinbow 6 Four is the McDonalds

No, he's probably just referring to a common perception that, to maximise profit you have to 'dumb down' a complex title by allowing it to be operated from consoles, so new titles in a 'franchise' (hate that money word) are generally worse than the originals.

Or something like that.

Ghost Recon < Ghost Recon 2.
Rainbow 6 < Sequels.

Are those supposed to be facing the other way, or are you the voice of dissent?

It does kinda look a bit like Battlefield 2, no?

Maybe if you replaced the pretty textures with ugly textures, and for every 3 polygons, you put 1 in instead (ok, slight exageration).

Fingers crossed that they do something similar to Raven Shield, where the PC version was good and the consoles got something different entirely (and that this movie is that "something different entirely").

Holy shit what have they done to Rainbow6. They've turned it into a consoleish peice of shit. Oh well, at least we'll have Swat4 to fill in the gap.

1) I think the movie is taken from the "XBox" version.
2) If you got to the end of the movie, it does not list PC just XBox, PS2, XBox Live etc.
3) god I pray the PC version is better!
4) It does kinda look a bit like Battlefield 2, no?

I guess I'm spoiled, but I couldn't even get through that trailer.

Tom Clancy is obviously not doing the writing for this game, even if it is still (technically) his franchise. Combine the poor writing with some mediocre (at best) voice acting, consoley graphics (IE, last generation) and you've got a recipe for me not watching
