Out of the Blue

The guests have all gone home, the leftovers packaged away, and even the dishes are almost all cleaned, so our Thanksgiving festivities here at the BlueTower are about wrapped up. The final head-count here turned out to be 21, covering two species (there are a pair of dogs in there) and four generations, while accounting for the numerous twists and turns in what has become quite the extended extended family. By all accounts a fine old time was had by all, so here's hoping that others' festivities went well as well.

So, has Bronco immersed himself in WoW, or is he still immersed in human waste?

Based on the sharp decline in posting activity the past few days, he's not the only onw I figure is all WoW-ing themself.

I never have the time to really read the page beyond OotB on weekends.

And yes, WoW is taking all of my gaming time right now. I got into Ravenholme and WoW went live....

So far WoW is winning over HL2.

Moreso because all my friends are on there leveling away.

I never played the original either, and the appeal of the dvd version is it contains the original...

If they just packaged up Pirates Gold, I hope they took out the lame requirement that you have to run in 256 color mode. x|

It's not allowed and people have been banned from panhandling out there.
They're banning panhandlers these days? Nice.

My favourite panhandling-type story is from several years ago. I was at a pool hall with a friend of mine, and he was counting quarters from a pile of them he had on the table. This guy comes by and says "hey man, can I borrow a quarter?" and my friend says, without even looking up, "sorry, I don't have any change." That other guy had no idea what to say and kind of stumbled away.

If you stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right there you probably noticed the police station next door.
It's no accident that there's a police station right there either.

You must get an interesting collection of people who hang out in front of that store.

No one hangs out in front of the store. It's not allowed and people have been banned from panhandling out there. We get enough odd characters coming in. We sell lots of single cans of things. My favourite is when people buy a very small amount of beer and put it on their credit card. Wait that's not my favourite that's my LEAST FAVOURITE.

I wouldn't want to be stuck in a blackout at Jane & Finch

I never heard of anything bad happening that day. Of course I was getting my supplies and going to a restaurant at Keele and Finch while all that happened. Anyways, those police come very quick. If you stayed at the Holiday Inn Express right there you probably noticed the police station next door.

A manual? As in printed? I thought those went out with the millennium, wow.

I was just shocked to receive that kind of helpfulness from someone at EB.

One time I was in EB and a kid went to ask the clerk something and he blew up at the kid yelling at him to never ask him anything in his store. In his store you look through the book on the counter and never ask him anything at all. I was next in line to ask something about trading in some games and decided to leave the store and not give that dick any business.

Haha, I live a few blocks down from there but I dispense alcohol for a living right there at Jane and Finch.
I have to admire your bravery. You must get an interesting collection of people who hang out in front of that store.

I stayed at a hotel right at Jane & Finch last year for a work course, and I got to leave a day early which is a good thing because while I was on the 401 home, the Big Blackout happened. I wouldn't want to be stuck in a blackout at Jane & Finch and not be a resident of the area, that's for damn sure.

The only really busy store I noticed was Sears, and that's because they were giving away $10 coupons good for anything in the store. By the lines that were there, you'd think they were giving away $100 bills ....

Oh, and that makes this post 400, which, according to the Bronco scale of postings, gives me <looks up the chart> .... exactly squat ..... w00t anyway!

I just wanted all you Christmas haters to know that I went out at 5 AM today and immersed myself in an orgy of corporate Christmas whoring by buying all kinds of cheap electronic decorations. That and I wanted to post #399 on the way to 400 .....

You're a braver soul than I am...I heard the local best bi was giving away laptops at $500, but they were gone by 6AM...

Me: <Holding lone Pirates box> You have the dvd edition of this?
Oh, have you had a chance to play it yet? How is it? I'm not sure if this is something I'd be interested in or not. I never actually played the original back in the day.

Haven't installed it yet, just got back from dinner w/ friends. But it's getting installed before Vampire. (So if not tonight, tomorrow.)

I never played the original either, and the appeal of the dvd version is it contains the original...(and a NICE 100+ page manual - not sure of that comes w/ the cd version or not.) But the concept sounds cool, and reviews so far have been good...

I was just shocked to receive that kind of helpfulness from someone at EB. But this is a new store in town, and the old one is where all the punks are.

So, has Bronco immersed himself in WoW, or is he still immersed in human waste?

Seems likely that it's a little of both

I blame the long weekend, rather than WoW, for the general decrease in internet fun.
