Out of the Blue [Nov 23, 2004, 09:34 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
I was already running a little behind this morning, and a little plumbing
problem set me even further back. According to our friendly neighborhood
plumber, the pipe to the radiator in our second-floor bathroom, which had
apparently been rusting for years, finally failed, causing a (thankfully minor)
flood in the basement. Turns out this is sort of good news that this finally
came to a head, as he says this was impeding the heat on the second floor as
well as my office above, so having the pipe repaired may well help us keep our
house warmer.

Mirsky and Warhawk, I'm just curious about the troubles you guys are having with getting "free" time from your spouse to play HL2.
Is it a problem for you to stay up past the time your spouse goes to bed to play HL2? For example, for awhile I had an arrangement so that I wouldn't play any games while my spouse was awake in the evening and would focus my attention on her. Then, when she went to bed, I would get an hour or two to play Counterstrike, Halo, etc.
This wasn't addressed to me but I'd like to chime in anyway.
My wife has no understanding or appreciation of games or gaming in general. She does understand just how much I enjoy it. After a day spent with our boys (6,4, and 3 YO) she just wants to decompress and spend some time alone. This works well for me as I can spend some time with the games.
On weekends we designate one night as 'date night' and do something together as a couple. Most of the time we just end up siting down and talking or watching a movie. The other night I spend gaming - usually rather late.
I never bothered trying to push her into gaming. Besides, it's nice to have a hobby to myself, worlds colliding and all that....
