JFK Reloaded

Saying "We believe that the only thing we're exploiting is new technology," Kennedy assassination re-created in video game is a story about JFK Reloaded. This game looks to recreate the JFK assassination (41 years ago today), describing it as a way of proving or disproving conspiracy theories about the shooting, offering a cash prize for a player that can recreate the shots attributed to Lee Harvey Oswald.

I wonder what the world reaction would be if I (being an American, and a Soldier to boot) made, or financed the making of, a game depicting Princess Di slamming into a bridge enbuttment? Let's see, you're a poperazzi... How many flashes from your camera will it take to blind the driver enough for him to wreck the car? And then I'll offer a cash prize to the person who most accurately does it?

Hmmm..

Other possible titles:

U.S. Politics:
Lincoln Reloaded (experience jumping from an 11 ft balcony!)

Pop Culture:
Ron Goldman Reloaded (play a member of a dreaded Columbian drug posse)

Middle East:
Rabin Reloaded (you too can shape the future and get married from prison)

Europe:
Franz Ferdinand Reloaded (not the band)

Historical:
Caesar Reloaded (you tu can walk in the steps of Brutus!)

Religious Historical:

Add yours here! I smell a winner.

Why do you keep trying to be condescending, like you've figured something out that I haven't? I've followed what you're trying to say from the beginning; no, it's not that clever, and no, it isn't totally accurate.

In a witchhunt there is no actual witchcraft to speak of; no one is actually putting curses on children or flying on broomsticks. It's purely a cover. However, there is such a thing as actually trolling. This isn't a difficult distinction to grasp. Get over the idea that you're making a really nuanced point.

probably because I know you and your screwed up thinking and never really believed you could take a hold of something trivial as that. you just proved me again.

dude, there isnt just black and white, full or empty...
if you fail to see that calling someone a troll is in most cases compareable to people who accused other people of witch crafting then you simply only see your limited point of view (full fantasy vs. full realitiy).
we never said its completely the same.

I hate everything:
It reminds me of the peasent in the crowd that would shout "She's a witch! Burn her!" or "Blasphemer!". There's no way to fight that kind of attack.

me:
You MIGHT find similarities.

you:
I disagree. Trolling is a specific form of antisocial net behavior, unlike witchraft, which does not exist.

We werent even talking about specifially comparing (un)real witches to real trolls.
Maybe you simply dont understand the meaning of the old witch calling and the reasons why people called someone a witch? In that case you shouldnt have considered replying.

I think people are forgetting that the President dresses like a civilian, but the bulk of his activities are something that a military commander does. The guy should be wearing a full military uniform, if he wanted to be honest.

No. The President is not a military officer; he is the civilian leader of our government. Presidents USE the military (similar to the way one would use a tool) to carry out or enforce United States foreign policy.

I am curious: What constitutes a 'bulk' of the Presidents duties that are something a military commander does?

While one would have a REALLY good argument that our current POTUS has primarily focused on military activities, I don't think that can be said about the POTUS in general. You seriously think that the bulk of Clinton's activities were military? Sure, it's a funny jab to say the POTUS should be wearing a military uniform, but it's something I vehemently disagree with. Saying he (any POTUS) is dishonest because he doesn't wear a uniform is seems to be hinting that a lot of people don't actually know that he's the Commander-In-Chief of the military.

"They all have families, too. And they're all connected to reality, and just because they're not specifically named doesn't mean anything."

It is not the same as targetting a specific event. Even so, what about the cash reward for killing virtual Kennedy? There are no missions in Call of Duty that have you kill a real person that lived at the time, in exactly the same manner in which he/she died and then provide a cash reward for it.

Come on people. Let's use common sense here.

the POTUS is Commander-in-Chief. He's the highest ranking person in the military. As such, killing him is no different than killing any other poor soldier in Call of Duty. They all have families, too. And they're all connected to reality, and just because they're not specifically named doesn't mean anything. Because they are all representatives of "German soldiers". Some people argue that all German soldiers were "evil" and thus OK to kill. The thing is, all German soldiers who were captured by America were released back into the public. Many outright Nazis were hired by the CIA and granted US citizenship. And look it from the POV of a German WW2 veteran. Would he think the fact that the Germans are unnamed as a reason enough to have fun killing German soldiers in COD? Probably not. Because they are representations of his former comrades. JFK is a representation of our former comrade, so some people are pissed off, even though we've been doing the same stuff against other people for years. And the William Blum book is great and correct. JFK was very much a soldier, launching wars, and Oswald was a Communist who thought he was defending Cuba. Assassinating Presidents is just a small scale act of war.

I think people are forgetting that the President dresses like a civilian, but the bulk of his activities are something that a military commander does. The guy should be wearing a full military uniform, if he wanted to be honest.

"As far as running over, bombing, or shooting "nameless, faceless" cardboard people as most games are setup to do - is this supposed to be a plus in their favor? "Oh, its okay... that dude doesn't have a name. Kill him. No harm done." "

No the point is, when you are running around killing in something like GTA, they are nothing but ones and zeros with no connection to reality. This however has a real connection to a real person, who has a family, that have real feelings on the matter. The 2 can't be compared.

Buy this book, Avatar. You'll find it interesting. Lots in there on Cuba as well.

Though it wasn't a recommendation for me, thanks for the link, I've been looking for something like this.

Even if people don't buy the book, at least read the first 1-star review by True Christian American. It's pretty funny.
