The lag has improved but I couldn't call it excellent.

Server 1 had an excellent end of the world raid as well. Easily in the range 200 people. I couldn't even capture all the action in my screenshots. But when we tryed to sail to booty bay with about 100 guys or so we fuxored the boat and we were all dropped in the middle of the ocean and drowned... It was hillarious though despite being an annoying bug.

Yea.. Anyone that complains about lag obviously hasn't played in the past two days.. I've played and it has been excellent. I can't wait to play retail.

Played the first stress test and open beta. Loved every minute. I pre-orded the collector's edition.

ill stick with DAOC so far they havnt gone anti solo like EQ did

If you've been following the closed/open beta you would know that they've already "slammed" the game with at least three major nerfs to many of the classes. It's just about where it needs to be, a few minor bug/lag issues aside.

Given the extreme lag we've been seeing - stress test or otherwise - I'm not confident that WoW will be shipping as it should be.

ahh extreme lag...sounds alot like battlenet hehe the lag never did get better just worse...but surely for 15 bucks a month times over 100,000 user they can fix the problem....

The beta was fun, I enjoyed parts of it but right now I can't see it lasting for me. It was a choice of Guild Wars or WoW for me, and right now with the server issues, plus the 500-600ms average ping times for me in Australia, I'm afraid that Guild Wars has won out.

All the better that GW is cheaper and just as much fun then :-)

I think its stupid for a patch to come out today and beta to end tomorrow.. I will lose my 27 shaman but I dont care really coz I am too poor to afford $15 a month anyway.

Well, that was a lot of fun, but will I buy it? I don't know.

With an imminent character wipe, people are running around raiding enemy towns. On the server 'Test 8' I joined a raid party of over 50 players in Auberdine, and we zerged down to the Barrens. We met stiff opposition and had to fall back to Astranaar where a pitched battle took place. Eventually we fought them off and made it into the Barrens.

It was much fun

Sheesh, the patch just came out and now the open beta ends tomorrow. Wait, what time tomorrow??!?!

Cool! I just preordered the CE today. Can't wait for this game. I was hooked for so long. I never had framerate lag at everything maxed. Need good comp I guess. As far as connection lag, never had any problems. Only when it was a server side issue and that was usually followed by a crash. That was all due to the server testing and stressing. I'm sure retail will have no problems. Cheers!

and I'll have to wait for the EU release I would prefer to play the game on american servers, as it seems many european mmorpg servers are flooded with people that doesn't even know english (players from some countries are guilty of this more than others....), the patches are launched later because of the localization... and lastly, we'll have to wait for the eu release, which seems to be far away

The way it works now (according to Blizzard), you'll need a US billing address to play on american servers... Wonder if there are ways around that...? I don't care about the ping... it was fine in the open beta (except for the inventory/loot lag, which I'm sure they'll completely fix soon... there have almost been no inventory lag at all the last few days.. so..)

The webpage says the beta characters are destroyed.

The game is cool. I never played an MMORPG before. I thought it would suck. I liked it. Big, open, variuos monsters, all the RPG level up stuff, spells, monsters, lots of classes.

The texture work is low quality. After awhile it does not matter so much. The place is big. I mean huge big. It can take 10 minutes to walk somewhere. Music is typical excellent Blizzard stuff.

It did lag occassionally. It was fine for me towards the end. I have a 3500/468 or something like that DSL connection. At first it was real laggy. Then it was patched and only lagged if there were about 40 people in the same area with you.

They did a good job. I don't know if I would buy it. $50 for the game and $15 bucks a month is expensive for me. It is a great game for people on vacation or kids in general. It really eats into your real life time. Game time is about 60 percent of real life time it feels like.

The funniest thing to happen to me? I go walk around for exercise. I been lazy lately. One night I was playing the beta and realized I had been walking around for 15 minutes and hadn't done anything. I was lost. But I didn't care. The scenery and music were so relaxing I felt like I was really outside doing my exercise walk.

I just wish theyd give us a straight answer on whether we can keep our beta characters or not

You need to understand Blizzard's perspective, if they told folks 2 weeks ago that there would be a character wipe, lots of folks would have left, or not have stressed the servers as much. The idea that there was an ounce of hope that they'd carry over the characters kept many grinders grinding away, collecting items etc etc.

Made good business sense, though I'm sorry to see my characters go.
