Source-engine cousin Half-Life 2:

Well HL2 looks like the same old run and gun fps. Bloodlines is an RPG. My gaming preferences have matured and I've become sick of the same old run and gun therefore I think Bloodlines will be better.
I agree with you, although I don't believe HL2 will simply be "same old run and gun" like another well hyped game *cough*doom3*cough. HL2 to me seems more like "solve puzzles, run, gun, solve puzzles, etc" where the puzzles are completely unique (ie: physics puzzles... never really used extensively before) I am planning on buying bloodlines also, simply for the fact that it looks like a good game.
