World of Warcraft Open Beta [Nov 08, 2004, 6:09 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Blizzard Entertainment announces the
beginning of the World of Warcraft Open Beta (thanks Ant), though the
World of Community Website seems
to have crumpled under the stress of the news. Word is that: "An initial run of
open beta accounts is now available from
FilePlanet"
(not limited to paid subscribed like the stress test), the wording suggesting
accounts will be available elsewhere eventually. Here's a bit on the beta: "In
preparation for the launch of World of Warcraft, we are now introducing the most
complete version of the game, including a new patch with extensive content,
including racial traits, raids, Hunter and Paladin talents, new quests for
high-end zones, and much more." Update: The client is now also available
on WorldofWarcraft.com and
mirrored on Gamer's Hell.
EQ2 removes the option for:
Splitting an encounter, Breaking a room, Root rotting, Pet Tanking, Feign
death splitting, Lulling, or anything else that isn't the single approach
that the encounter was designed to handle.
If you want to do anything besides kill the rare 1 out of 10 solo bug,
armadillo, lion or rat sneak then you must have a group.
Once you have that group, the encounters are completely straightforward.
Pull group of mobs, hit hotkey #1 six times, switch target, rinse, repeat.
If you had the correct balance of Enchanter, Cleric and Tank, then you win
the encounter (and unless someone goes linkdead or spontaneously stupid; You
always win that encounter) If you didn't have that balance, it's back to the
entrance to wait and try to find someone LFG.
Dont you love it when ppl post crap about stuff they know nothing about lol, Its obvious to me that this geek hasnt played EQ2 at all cause you can splitt encounters and you can solo groups and solo encounters all by yourself if you want, the way the splitt is set up is by choice this time so if you dont want interference you dont call for help, If you do need help with a mob theres a button for it and it allows for ppl to get help, I like the new system cause it caues no Ksing.
Let me shut this chump up once and for all, how come im playing for like several hours and no one is even griefing?
How come I and everyone else who IS playing is enjoying the new combat system? How come eveyone who IS playing is completely thrilled by the quest system? How come your comming in here with all your Lies? Do you work for Blizzard?
Dosent matter cause EVERY web site thats reviewed EQ2 and compared it to Wow said EQ2 is the one to buy? Errr.... huh, so dont come and post about a game in which other ppl are playing and enjoying, I do plan on getting Wow but i dont plan on getting that much time to play it cause EQ2 will dominate it.
Heck I can afford EQ2 or Wow so I dont give a rats ass which one turns out better WTF, you make me laugh with all your ranting and raveing about how this will suck hehe I tried Wow beta its the same old gameplay like EQ1 was press a button kill a monster repeat, only the graphics at least the Terrain looks no better than tribes 1 LOL just go look at it then compare it to the 5 year old game tribes, but the game is kinda enjoyable but no where near as enjoyable as EQ2 is.
