1) Taunt being redone absolutely sucks. It's not even questionable, it's just stupidly useless now. *If* it still had no timer, it might be better (thought it would still be just spamming the button to keep agros), but with an 8s timer it's nearly impossible for warriors to actually tank in instances (which is pretty much all they're good for)

Can you describe the change? I haven't been in an instance since the change - I'm busy leveling characters on the 2nd stress test servers to get ahead of the OB people.

I'm planning on a trip to Uldamon Saturday night on BETA server and want to know what I can and can't do - lvl 43 warrior.

I had rez sickness for only 5 minutes with my lvl 15 character. It isn't such a big deal at lower levels. But repairing all my gear cost an arm and a leg.
It really sucks because you can't use it in combat anymore.

2) Rez sickness at spirit healer at higher levels (and I think this is true in general, though not sure) is way too long... 30 minutes is just stupid for a game trying to aim at less hardcore players

I had forgotten about this game until the first stress test. I had so much fun in the test I immediately pre-ordered.

Count me in

Thing is, I think I'd enjoy PvP to a modest extent. I'm just looking for input as to how much game time it occupies, as I don't want to spend most of my time engaged in PvP.

The only changes I think are legitimate bitches:

1) Taunt being redone absolutely sucks. Riker, play on a normal/pve server. You can't be attacked. Only on the pvp/avh server can you be attacked in the contested zones.

I played PvE in the first stress test, but figured I'd enjoy PvP for OB/retail. I'm glad that involuntary PvP can only occur in contested zones, but from the maps I've seen, contested zones make up a large part of the game world. How effective is the honor system in preventing ganking in contested zones? Another concern is that I don't want to spend as much time in PvP as I do questing in contested zones; is that typically how it is?

I see no reason to ruin the game by getting ganked repeatedly in PvP

This is not how PvP works in WoW. If they opposite side (alliance/Horde) enters your land they cannot attack you unless you attack them first. The only areas that are free for all are the contested areas, which contain higher level mobs so you'd only be entering well after your feet were wet.

There is no ganking, unless you and your lvl 3 buddies see some horde/alliance member lvl 25 or so, and say...grrr he's in our land rawr ATTACK, then die.

In the stress I routinely see "Blah blah is under attack" but when I get there I hear it's one troll who now has been dead for 5 minutes.

PvP is fun, since there are lots of areas to fight, but it's not an annoying thing for new players.

I'll probably be playing an Undead character at launch, central time zone. I like Druid, but I'll be playing with a friend and he's pretty much decided on Undead. It's looking like a Rogue at this point. They seem a little better & more fun to play compared to Warrior.

So long as I can pick on Matthew, belittle the non-elves, and openly mock all gnomes/dwarves for being little play toys, I am up for joining a Blue's News guild.

Count me in for a guild. I would be playing on the Central Zone - currently in server #5 PvE. I see no reason to ruin the game by getting ganked repeatedly in PvP. That said, I would play on a PvP server if everyone else does.

I will be playing Alliance exclusively for at least the first 6 months.

I believe that the guild names will be locked somehow on release to one name per zone? So it would be possible for our guild to have a presence in each zone.

I'm thinking a name like 'House of Blue'?

Oh, I responded to your last email Ray...

I'm curious how many people intend to play at launch at if everyone is interested in doing a guild of Blues people?

I already paid for the CE and am just waiting for a combination of shippage and cable modemage.

Any day now for broadband...
So nice,

Me, and I suspect many others.

... if everyone is interested in doing a guild of Blues people?

Yes, please. I've already discovered that having a good group of people (who speak in full sentences and at least give SOME nod to some aspects of roleplaying) makes games like this much more enjoyable.

It might be a little trickier because of the wide range of servers from different timezones, though.

What does everyone think they'll play on? (Which TZ and PVP/Normal?)

Me: Central or East would be fine, and I'm up in the air on the whole PvP thing.

WoW has likely already been shipped off - or will be this week for certain - for duplication. The open beta can - and should - go on for another 2 weeks. I'm assuming it will so they can finalize one big last patch for retail day opening. They really only need 2 or 3 days to end the test and prep everything for retail launch, so let's hope the OB lasts at least 2 weeks.

While it plays pretty well now, I really think they should have had at least a 4 week OB. I'm sure we're going to see a lot of problems crop up in OB that they didn't not anticipate at all. Trying to rectify all those problems in 1 to 2 weeks while juggling a launch is a bit much.

I'm curious how many people intend to play at launch at if everyone is interested in doing a guild of Blues people?

Hey Bronco, still got a spare Wow key laying around unused?

I've given away 3 now. I might have one more but I will need to check. If I find one I'll post a message here.
