Blizzard always has the coolest opening cinematics I have ever seen. Just downloaded it. I wish these guys would make movies. I'm serious. I would pay to see a movie made with the people who do the cinematics.

well I don't really care about graphics. I want a fun game. WoW is fun. And they let you test it. Blizzard has a reputation for making good games.

I'm in both the WoW beta and the EQ2 beta. Sorry to inform you, EQ2 is just plain bad. Graphics are plastic and just unreal looking...the gameplay is BORING and as I said before:

EQ2 has the feel that it was just put together by employees punching a clock. No life, not fun...just...blah. Also, they putting this game out next week when it's in the state it's in shows that they don't really care about the game, all they look at is the bottom line. The numbers. "Let's get this game out now so we don't get bitten by WoW...we'll fix it later but let people start paying now for us to fix it". That's their attitude.

But really, if YOU think that EQ2 is better, then play it. What's stopping you? Why can't people play one game or the other...is it money out of your pocket if someone plays WoW instead? Why are you getting so worked up about this? Sheesh

Reason I ask is I saw the movie that sorta explains where everyone split into 2 groups and shows them fighting. What kills me is you have what looks to be a necromancer dark elf, doing a fireworks display with her magic in the begining and later attacking people. I mean if she's mean and evil why is she doing the magic display with people cheering her on?

And The WoW intro still owns EQ2's. Also from the movies on their site everything is barren. And I don't mean just from lack of people in the ingame movies, but the citys and indoors all look sparse.

And what was the most technically advanced game you played graphically of the 90's? Only 2 I can think of are Quake 3 and maybe Morrowind but not sure if the latter was pre-2000.

What is really sad after watching the Qeynos and Freeport fly-throughs is how much of their designs are ripped from the LOTR movies. Especially in Qeynos's flyby. The EQ team is simply out of ideas anymore, and SOE as a whole is scrambling to get subscribers back. I mean look at all the SOE games and the only real moneymaker for them anymore is EQ. Free Trial for SWG, and Planetside, Soverign was canned, and with Games like City of Heroes, Word of Warcraft, Guild Wars, The Matrix Online, and Lineage 2, they are loosing more and more of the MMO Pie.

And SWG is proof of concept that really nifty graphics do not make the game fun and draw people in. Cause the biggest bitch/moan/complaint about EQ2 is that people who play EQ1 won't be able to play it smoothly. Happens with every single game and will happen with EQ2 as well.

EQ2 might exercise more features of modern day graphics cards, but that isn't always smart.

Well yeah gameplay is important youre right , And i do belive it already has gotten a close to perfection score 4 1/2 and not one mention that he couldnt run it on his computer or it has dull or bad gameplay he gave it almost perfect score.

Obtw ive played the wow beta i was a undead mage Taroun fighter Orc shaman, they all played the same lol just a constant tapping on the keyboard to kill stuff the same old tired way EQ1 has been doing it now for like 6 years and wow goes out and copys EQ 1 battle system and not even as good LOL, speaking of the intro cinema which all the races have a different one its good but WAY off the mark of what EQ2 intro is. LOL not even in the same league EQ2 is competing with Hollywood with there intro WOW is competing with DAoC or SWG or AC hehe but dont even speak of Wow and EQ2 in the same sentance agian please EQ2 dont deserve that.

Technically, EQ2's graphics engine is more capable than WoW's. Stylistically, WoW blows EQ2 out of the water. It pisses me off when people reject a game because the graphics engine isn't up to par with today's "standards". I would go so far as to say that because of these expectations, gameplay takes a back seat. That seems evident to me judging by these replies.

Yeah, and besides, if we TRULY wanted ultra-realistic graphics, we could just look outside the damn window...

obviously you haven't even played WoW. The combat for the most part is very simular to EQ1, with exceptions to warriors who actually build up rage every time they hit a baddie and then can do a specilized attack which does more damage. And the graphics fit the style of the game, but then again I guess that every game you play is photo realistic otherwise you don't bother playing it right? I'd have something look a bit more cartoonish then look like rubber/plastic look that EQ2 has.

Graphically EQ2 is better, visually WoW just owns EQ2. And also another good point brought up is how many people do you know now that haver top end uber systems that play EQ1 right now go on a raid and turn all there graphics down as low as possible to get somewhat smooth framerates while going on raids etc? I know quite a few including my roomate who I watch with his system. Hell even with my athlon 64 3200 1 gig of corsair gaming ram and top end nvidia card that I have to turn my settings down quite a bit just to go into the bazaar in EQ1. While in WoW I have everything on max and have yet needed to turn anything down.

But it's not just visual, every single screen shot I've seen of EQ2 just looks bland and empty, while playing WoW everything just feels alive. Music, Ambiance, etc. And look at the EQ2 shots on the griphon and I don't see very much, while in WoW when I take a griphon or other flying critter, I see people, mobs, structures etc.

and I also agree EQ2 just looks like it's being pumped out, while WoW looks like the first child of parents doing everything to nurture it's child.

Its such a great game youve got ppl getting to the cap in a month. and then they quit.

The fighting is a joke with just point and click and watch, wheres the fun in that? Even EQ1 had a better fighting scheme.

I might check this out agian however but i will say agian the graphics are 90s, just look at the character models in this game and a game called Redguard by bethesda which was released in the 90s. Reguard looks better.

Same here #26. Of all I've played in the MMORPG genre, I've only been let down or turned off. WoW is equal to an epic, masterfully done single player RPG game, with the addition of thousands of players joining you. It has to be the most detailed online game you'll ever play with style bursting out of every corner. Seriously, EQ2 has nothing on WoW. EQ1 was a success, now let WoW be the new MMORPG King. Thank you, good bye. Oh and WoW seems simple when you start off, though once you get higher lvl and into the way everything works, you'll never stop.
