You're selling yourself short Reactor by not trying to play this. If you refuse to read the instructions then just wait for the retail game with the integrated tutorial. It probably took me about 4-6 tries on the singleplayer demo while reading the readme and visiting the nexus forums before I was comfortable playing this. I will warn those who are mindless FPS fans, you can't just plop down and blow people away, you have to learn the game and then it's extremely fun and very rewarding especially playing multiplayer battles with others using a good team strategy.

Edit: And what crack were you smoking when you said it doesn't look good, buy a damn video card and pull out that gforce2mx.
Edit: oops, spelling

Then again, Reactor, you're obviously not very good at finding readme.txt's

I played the IG3 demo and had a bad time with it the first time 'round, but after I read the readme I had a blast. By the time the Nexus demo came out, I had entirely forgotten how to play the game...but after reading the readme, it rocked (again). That spacebar is quite important

As for the backgrounds...someone has only been looking at the screenshots. Space looks just as good as in Homeworld 2, only it looks more real in Nexus.

It doesn't look that great. The ships look good in all their pixel shader glory, but the backgrounds look like a complete disaster in comparison. Also, it didn't help releasing a singleplayer game without any form of instructions. I played it for about half an hour, couldn't work out what to do, and deleted it. I'm sure there's a good game under the mess of menus somewhere, but I couldn't find it (and I'm generally good at working out games without instructions).

It was, until CDV shit-canned it and tried to sweep the entire game under the rug. Then HD Interactive swooped in and liberated the game to give it the chance it deserves to make a proper impact on the space strategy genre. I wish these guys had been around when Sierra crapped all over B5: ITF.

Nexus is looking really sweet - any fan of Homeworld or the Starfleet Command series should definately look into it. It's one of the only space games out there that can reliably match Freespace 2 in terms of overall graphical splendor too.

All I want to know is which deaf dumb and blind moron said “One of the Biggest Surprises of the Year!!”. You'd have to be living under a rock for the last year to have missed the screenshots, movies, and two demos (not to mention all the other hype surrounding it).

This is a great game that's gonna end up flying under the radar unless they hype the US release next year a whole lot more.

Guess I'll head on over to Gogamer and import it.

Edit: Ah yes, it is yellow. The comments are formatted like the quote too.
