Dredd Comes Stateside

Prepare to be judged! BAM! Entertainment, Inc. Announces North American Distribution Agreement for Judge Dredd Dredd Vs. Death (thanks Frans) announces that Rebellion's first-person shooter based on the 2000 A.D. comic book hero is headed to the United States. Word is the PC, Xbox, PS2, and GameCube editions of the game will appear stateside next month. Here's a bit on the game:
The game takes place in the futuristic 22nd century, where society is on the verge of anarchy and only a select group of elite "judges" can keep Mega-City One under control. Players take on the role of Judge Dredd, one of the city's top judges who vows to clean up the streets by any means necessary. But when a break-out at the city's penitentiary unleashes a group of evil judges onto the city streets, Judge Dredd's plans for stability take a deadly turn.

Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death is a first-person shooter action game featuring a huge arsenal of deadly weapons to help combat the city's scum throughout 11 chapters and more than two dozen levels of game play. Over 50 unique characters, including zombies, crooks and demons, challenge Judge Dredd on his quest. Multiplayer action allows up to 4 players to battle it out in split-screen mode.

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/240599.asp It's going to be $14.99 at EB you really can't go wrong. I own the game already and it isn't too bad, although it's not great either. I liked the over the top rag doll animations, they were very 'comic'al. What I liked most about it is you can play CoOp for all the missions in the game... now that's nice! Why is it the budget games always seem to add coop but the big name titles we really want it for deny us all the time!! So grab this game it's worth the money.

I've always liked Rebellion's stuff, though I hear this one wasn't that great...

So the SP is worth $14.99, in your opinion?

MacD said it for me, nin! The co-op is worth $14.99. I actually played through the entire game with my son and he still plays it today (after almost a year since I bought it). He enjoys the bot matches... HOW 'BOUT THAT... They even put in bots and challenge modes they call it 'arcade' and it's totally different from the single player game. The best way I could describe it is being very similar to TimeSplitters 2 (which received much acclaim for that game's extras) for the consoles. Remember it has it's weaknesses for sure but I overlooked them because they took the time to add so much extra gameplay.

nice try, but this is totally not worth your time. it's a cut-rate fps that we shouldn't even talk about in this time of halo2 and halflife2.

a total pos. also, boring.

you know, i'm pretty bored of companies butchering good comic books.

Are there any other arcade modes than Zombie Headshot Apocalypse or Riot ?

I'm seeing more and more games which either aren't released in the U.S. or are released long after they are available overseas. I've been hearing quite a bit about problems finding a reasonable publishing deal here. In the case of this game it might not be so surprising although I did get a kick out of the arcade modes in the demo.

funny thing is rebellion don't just own the rights to the game, they actually own Dredd, completely.

I think they've suffered a lot since many of the AVP guys left.
