BTW Beamer, I had the exact same response to DOOM3. I've been a hardcore id gamer for years and years. Played Doom back when it was brand new, and played all 3 quake games online for years and years.
DOOM 3 looks pretty (although a little too plastic for me), but that is all. The gameplay wasn't stimulating in the least for me. The story was stale and the scripted scenes did little or nothing to keep me interested. I got about 5 hours into it and haven't fired it back up since. The only reason I allow it to take up hard drive space is that I hope for some cool mods for the engine.
I'm not going to sit here and try to convince you all, in some self-aggrandizing way, that DOOM3 sucks. It's subjective. It doesn't suck, but it's not what I'm looking for. In 20 days or so HL2 will be activated on my machine, and I will give it a try.

He cut the possum's face off then cut around the eye socket. In the center of the belt buckle, where the possum's eye would be, he has placed a small piece of wood from his old '52 Ford's home made railroad tie bumper. Damn, he misses that truck.
