It's 6 months late and it still has "known issues."
They recommended rolling back ATI Cats from 4.9 to 4.3... I don't even think the 4.3s will work with my x800xt-pe
Oh well, another game that will continue to collect dust.

No shit! This AND HL2 going gold. I'd say the apocalypse must be close at hand...

DNF, of course, will happen at the second coming...

Don't forget. The election is the week before HL2. The way they keep talking about fraud, it is hard to believe the election will actually be decided on Nov 2.

What is an apocalypse anyways? A natural disaster, the end of the world? Or something like losing all constitutional rights as a result of Patriot Act II or whatever other ideas the republicans have for taking over the world?

I still can't believe that they really have guys with machine guns openly walking around in airports and various cities. I saw a picture of some soldiers with machine guns standing on a sidewalk in New York and it gave me the shivers. You could see a "cone of silence" or a "force bubble" around the guys. Every pedestrian walking down the street was walking waaaaay far away from the machine guns.

Chuckle, I was wondering myself. The "fixed" list IS longer than the "known issues" list
This is just weird: 'Windows 2000/XP only: Make sure your keyboard is in lower case mode before starting the game.'

Oh heck. I forget the latest on the vengeance of Karma.

Did you know that Japan has been hit by 8 typhoons this season? A record for however many years. And there is another one coming. Then they just had a 6.1 earthquake. And about 30 aftershocks.

Japan has troops in Iraq. They are in the midst of changing thier politics to allow them to have a miltiary force again.

You can't blame them. They see the world domination machine headed towards Asia. Once the muslims are taken care of, Asia is next. Seems like nature would support them in the battle against world domination.

I guess playing both sides, arming yourself for the coming conflict with evil, while simultaneously kissing the behind of the world dominators by sending troops to Iraq does not fool Mother Nature. You collaborate with evil, you pay no matter what other good acts you do.

It will be quite interesting to see how many more typhoons and earthquakes hit Japan.

They recommended rolling back ATI Cats from 4.9 to 4.3...
And people scream when I mention my preference for NVidia cards. This driver shit, roll back this, don't install the latest that ... this is what I HATE about ATI. You never have to deal with this shit when you've got an NVidia card. And it's not just Far Cry either, a LOT of games have this ATI crap-driver problem. So do I roll back to 4.3 so I can play Far Cry but NOT play some other game? Or do I wait for the next patch or the NEXT drivers from ATI (which I won't be ale to use because of some incompatibility with yet ANOTHER game). Blame bad game programming as much as you want, but it's interesting it never seems to happen with NVidia cards.

Well, I hadn't uninstalled FC yet (you don't to uninstall much when you have 120 gigs of drive!) so I plugged this in. I'm running 4.9 and didn't see what problems they warn about. Not much change here at all except that it fixes the bugs 1.2 introduced...

This game still has a jaw-droppingly pretty engine, and the fights with humans are still great. I hope the expansion concentrates on these strengths and leaves the silly rocket monsters out.

I've actually HAD that issue. Although pre-patch, I had to have caps lock ON to get movement to work...WTF?

Why are you posting this stuff here? Did they kick you out of the legitimate poli-sci forums for being too stupid?

Here's a clue: NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU THINK OR EVER WILL.

Let me know if I need to clarify that.

I believe that ATI drivers are inherently buggy to begin with... and as they gradually squash those bugs, it breaks other games that were programmed to work around those bugs. In other words, if ATI released a 100% bug free driver tomorrow, many games simply would not work.

The simplest solution would be for ATI to allow multiple driver releases to coexist... You could simply select among the installed drivers in the control panel, and reboot. Of course, I don't expect ATI to implement such a common sense solution... after all, they're Canadian

I recently installed the 64-bit version of FC with updated Nvidia drivers...graphics were all jacked up. I hope this patch addresses it. It played fine on my old 32-bit setup...
