Merscom sends word that Space Interceptor: Project Freedom is gold, and CITY
Interactive's space combat game is set to appear in North American stores on
November 9:
CHAPEL HILL, NC - October 21, 2004 - Merscom LLC today
announced "Space Interceptor: Project Freedom" for PC has gone gold. This
high-quality space combat arcade-style game, with its dazzling visuals and
straight-ahead action gameplay, raises the bar for "value-priced" games.
Retailing for $19.99 (USD) and rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB for Mild Language
and Violence, "Space Interceptor: Project Freedom" was developed by CITY
Interactive and is scheduled to arrive on store shelves beginning November 9,
2004. The game will be distributed by Atari and will be widely available across
the country.
"Space Interceptor: Project Freedom" orbits you into the third millennium, where
Earth's mega-corporations, having exhausted all natural resources, now colonize
the solar system. As a space fighter pilot contracted by one of the few
remaining "good guys", a company called Project Freedom, you must battle their
ruthless competition in the lawless new frontier of outer space.
In command of a heavily armed fighter ship, your missions include escort, strike
and rescue operations. You are the hero as you blaze through enemy fleets,
tumbling asteroid fields, and snaking planet-side canyons. As you simultaneously
fire ship-to-ship missiles, ship-to-ground missiles, photon torpedoes and plasma
bombs, grand explosions create columns of light and energy in space locations
beautifully rendered from actual recorded data.
