Half-Life 2 Submitted for Certification

Computer And Video Games has a story up based on one of their sometimes accurate anonymous sources saying that Half-Life 2 has been submitted to the Pan European Games Information age rating system and subsequently the British Board of Film Classification for certification, this rumor lending further support to other rumors (story) that the shooter sequel's gold announcement is imminent. According to their "industry insider" Vivendi considers the game done, and that a November release is "extremely likely."

Well apparantly once the Rating information panel assigns a rating for Valve's game, Valve cannot change any of the games content or else the rating will be nullified and Valve would have to start the procedure all over again. SO usually game companies submit the game for rating when thier pretty quite sure there finished. So I think this might be the real deal.

Sorry Terp, but blue's doesnt come installed with an "ommit Half-Life 2 BS" thread.

Might as well just have another banner up top specifically for HL2.

I'd like to but I can't. At this point it is basically like a Car Accident, you can't help but slow down and stare to see if someone died. Which, in the case of Half Life 2, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say at this point its all hype. All the "New, Groundbreaking Graphics" they used in it are dated 2 years. So, to keep going on this rant, as with most traffic accidents this game is going to be "Nothing to see... move along"

Oh yay.. I'll believe HL2 is out and "gold" or "done" when I see it in stores with my own eyes.

I'm still looking forward to HL2. I did the pre-order via Steam, and Counter Strike: Source has been great.

Although, the game on top of my "coming soon" list is Halo 2. Mainly for the single player story. I still don't like using a gamepad for FPS-multiplayer.

Hey Joe, for future reference, Gamepad and FPS should not be used in the same sentance... unless of course you like everyone knowing you are a n00b.

Same here. I hate gamepads for FPS games so much that I won't buy Halo 2 until either: 1) somebody comes out with some type of mouse/keyboard combo for xbox or 2) it comes out for PCs.

If Valve is in court suing over wheather or not they can sell it through Steam this game could be held up for years just because you pre-paid for it does not mean your gonna get it anytime soon

While this may signal it's completed, VUE and Valve litigation may still delay it.

Who has played their 'official' Half-Life for DreamCast copy lately? Rated - 9/30/2000 - ROFL

And for you Halo 2 people, this was rated 7/8/2004.

theres a caveat with that device: The mouse-look speed will only go as fast as the fastest "look" setting on the gamepad which will seem very slow for most PC FPS players.

Having said that it'll still be better than using a friggin thumbstick to aim with.

WTF is with the BS announcements. Any other game we get a notice saying it's gone gold. That is all anyone cares about. No one cares abour release candidates or certifications or steam updates or any other thing that you can possibly come up with, just shut up Valve. God and fire your marketing dept, they are truley the worst I've ever experience in ANY INDUSTRY.

Wake me when this game goes bargain bin.
