Half-Life 2 Submitted for Certification

Computer And Video Games has a story up based on one of their sometimes accurate anonymous sources saying that Half-Life 2 has been submitted to the Pan European Games Information age rating system and subsequently the British Board of Film Classification for certification, this rumor lending further support to other rumors (story) that the shooter sequel's gold announcement is imminent. According to their "industry insider" Vivendi considers the game done, and that a November release is "extremely likely."

Yeah, as disgusting as it is true.
While those of us with Steam accounts and HL2 loaded won't be able to play until someone somewhere says it's ok. Hmm what are the advantages of Steam again?

just shut up Valve. God and fire your marketing dept, they are truley the worst I've ever experience in ANY INDUSTRY.

I was waiting for someone to blame this on Valve, because, y'know, they anonymously leaked this, right?

Dude, they have next to no marketing department. When Gabe burps it makes news because people care. Care a lot, despite your declaration that "no one cares abour[sic] release candidates..."

Clearly people do. That's why any news, 99% not from Valve, winds up here and gets 100+ post threads.

Get your head out of your ass. You're allowed to hate things, but don't be ignorant about it.

Doods! What is wrong with you? This is FANTASTIC news.

This means we should see half life 2 on the P2P networks in a day or two.

Just like with Halo 2.

Go European hackers! We want HL2 NOW!

Word to that.

I personally like hearing about HL2's status. I mean, here it is on my computer, almost fully downloaded/installed/whatthehellever, and I'm dying to play it.

Damn, you'd think Valve is a bunch of baby killers the way some people talk about them. If you don't like the story, ignore it.

Don't be so naive, every single worthless news bit we read about the friggin game originates from the Valve marketing dept. No one has spies working inside telling us what's happening, this is just more mktng crap.

If I never here another word about this game I'll be a happy gamer.

It's not an announcement, just a rumor. I'm guessing that the leak came from the PEGI.

Blue, please stop posting this shite. I want HL2 more than anybody, but anything less than another delay or a gold announcement is most definately NOT news at this point. Let us know when it goes gold, and keep it off the site until then.

Isn't it obvious? Just slap on the "M" rating, or whatever Euro equivelant it is and release it already.

I've paid for it.
I've downloaded it.
Now I want to play it.

theres a caveat with that device: The mouse-look speed will only go as fast as the fastest "look" setting on the gamepad which will seem very slow for most PC FPS players.

Having said that it'll still be better than using a friggin thumbstick to aim with.
